the check engine light goes on and all the other lights ABS, brake, trac keep coming on and going off
Possible ground issue at the taillights.
ABS lights might be on if you drove with your emergency brake engaged. The heat form the friction of this would set off the sensors. The ABS has probably set a code for a failed rear axle speed sensor. Replace the speed sensor on the rear axle.
Usually the ABS and traction control off lights will come on
Replace brake light switch.
Not totally sure, is it just the ABS light, or is the ESP light also going on/off? Could be a faulty stop lamp switch located on the brake pedal, or could be something going on the the SBC system? If the ABS lights has come on though, there should be a code in the system.
I just had this problem on my 98 Frontier because the brake lights were staying on. I had to replace the brake light switch and the brake light button for it to go out.
Check the brake fluid. If it is ok, take it to the dealer and have the abs codes read. Additionally, there could be a couple reasons more. For my '95 Trooper, the ABS hydraulic brake cylinder was gradually going out. The ABS brake light would blink on and off going over bumps, then finally the ABS brake light stayed on all together. Two or three years later I had it checked out and the ABS hydraulic cylinder was defective and replaced. My mechanic also told me that the electrical line from the ABS sensor at the differential is known for breaking in a particular location and that also could cause the problem.
check the brake fluid level. check all the brake linings for thickness.
the brake switch at the pedal is stuck or out of adjustment.
My 2000 Toyota Tundra Truck, the brake lights come on when your not pressing on the brake paddle. Not even even if the car is on.
you could have grease, dirt, ect. anything on your abs wheel sensor. take the tires off and clean them. If that does not work then you need to replace the bad part. Hope i could help
