I suspect that the carburetors need a good cleaning. It is not uncommon with the Yamaha, especially the quick start models, to have a reasonably good idle with gummed up carbs.
My kodiak 400 2003 idles well but when you throttle away it chugs like its no getting any fuel does any one have any clues
outboard motor will start and idle, but dies out under load
Broken/disconnected throttle cable
Year? Replace ECTS and clean the throttle body
throttle posistion sensor or vacuum leak
rev limiter
Throttle linkage could be in a bind or TPS is defective. (throttle Position sensor)
Check for a vacuum leak or sticking butterfly valve at the throttle body, or possibly a sticking throttle linkage or throttle cable.
It could be a dirty air filter or a dirty throttle body.
you have a cylinder misfire
Very vague information. Could be the main jet in the carburator.
The throttle plate in the throttle body may be stuck and needs to be freed up and/or lubricated
