Why does my Yamaha 90 outboard misfire when I put the throttle down. It idles ok?

I suspect that the carburetors need a good cleaning. It is not uncommon with the Yamaha, especially the quick start models, to have a reasonably good idle with gummed up carbs.

Check for a vacuum leak or sticking butterfly valve at the throttle body, or possibly a sticking throttle linkage or throttle cable.
