I have a 2003 Honda element that shifts hard between 1st and 2nd gear. I tuned it up for a miss fire mode it didn't change anything. I changed the Transmission Fluid not knowing if someone had put the wrong fluid in it. the car only has 105k miles on it and I bought it with hope of getting a good car cheap. after tons of research I found two people that had replaced the throttle body. DONT CHANGE THE THROTTLE BODY yes it will most likely fix the problem but if you are mechanically incline you can go to ebay and get the throttle position sensor for about 17.00. it is adjustable so make sure that you adjust it with the correct idle. you will have to remove the throttle body to replace it due to the bolts that holds on the factory TPS does not have a head o0n them. you can either cut the TPS from the throttle body with side cuts so you can get to the bolts they will un screw just take vise grips remove them and go to autozone or a hardware store and get M5 .8mm bolts save an original bolt to match up the correct length. its not that bad and can save you tons of money.
you have to put your foot on the break pedal, to shift out of park its a safety feature
A hard shift from first gear to second gear in the Honda Accord could be because of a linkage problem with the transmission. It could also be a problem with the transmission screen needing to be cleaned or low transmission fluid.
hard to tell without more information, but more than likely, yes it will
Hey K==It will start grinding in reverse and hard to shift in foreward gears. GoodluckJoe
Absolutely use nothing but Honda ATF-Z1. Do not use any substitute as your transmission will shift hard. You can buy it at your Honda dealer. I know, it cost more. Well what does a transmission rebuild cost?
Not that hard I learned in 15 minutes. Clutch shift.......
Because to press a button to shift a button is like pressing shift to press hard.
When its cold the oil gets extremely thick and is alittle hard to shift. Just let the car warm up for about 15mins and it should be easier
you gotta trist it off anti clockwise but a car that old it can be pretty hard to get off, trying to get mine off atm
It's a very common issue for the Rebels. Easiest way is to kill the engine while in 2nd gear, let out the clutch lever and tap the shifter into neutral.
truck start shift is hard to move in gear
From previous experience, it is because your transmission is about to die. I'm now on the 3rd transmission and I only have 100 000km on the 2003 Kia Rio. Good luck!
