Roman civilisation was made inprtant thriugh the vast Roman Empire. It was the second largest antiquity saw and the 17th largest in history. It created a vast ommon market where trade thrived and created prosperity before the empire was affected by repeated invasions from outside. It promoted the spread of Roman civilisation in large parts of Europe, in North Africa and in part of Western Asia. It also led to an amalgamation between the Roman and the Greek civilisations which led to Greco-Roman art and culture. This civilisation had a strong influence on the Europeans from the Renaissance (14th and 15th centuries) to the early 20th century.
Because a lot of the best pieces of art, poems, discoveries, and other leaps in the Arts were made there.

When the Romans conquered Egypt, Alexandria of Egypt also became a major cultural centre. After their designation as imperial capitals, Constantinople and Milan became major cultural centres, too.
Rome is so important to Christians because the Pope or the Popes before came from Rome. Rome is sometimes considered the center of the Christian world. The Pope often visits and resides in Rome and it is where the largest church gatherings are held weekly.
The Colosseum is at the center of Rome and is listed as part of the Center of Rome World Heritage site. It is very important because it allows the moderns the ability to see how the ancients lived. I was an engineering marvel for its time and was a testament to Romes Power and world standing at the time it was built. Short answer: yes it is important
