Hello, My SRS dashboard light came on about 3 years ago and is still shining... A Honda/Acura mechanic used a diagnostic device and told me that one of the computers on the car was completely dead... The computer is about $486 and it is another $200 labor because the location of the computer is so far back into the inner front of the dashboard that the whole dashboard has to be removed to get to it. I don't know the exact part number of the computer, otherwise I would try to shop it on eBay. I will look for the part number and get back to you if you email me at:

I would like to know any updates you might get on this. What I was also told from the mechanic is that if that SRS light is on, the airbags will absolutely positively NOT deploy in a collision... Another thing that scares me is if I end up getting lucky enough to find that part on eBay at a reasonable price, and then I can install it, I am scared the airbags will deploy when I plug the new computer in... The mechanic said "I would disconnect the battery before you plug that in if I was you...". So I'm not sure exactly what all is involved and furthermore, I am scared to mess with it...
Sorry I don't have any better news for you, because of the complexity and price of the repair I've left my stinkin' light on... If I am able to resolve the issue in any way or have other details, I will get back to you. Do me a favor and email me to let me know what you find out and I can get that part number to you also once I find it.
Thanks,
Steven Baker

When airbags deploy on a Honda Civic the SRS system is alerted. This will not allow the car to properly start. The SRS system will need to be properly reset.
Answermost likely a bad srs module
The SRS light on a 1995 Honda Civic can be reset by jumping the wire clip. Unplug the SRS wire clip found under the dashboard. Take two wires and insert them into the clip. Tie the wires together and turn the car on and off twice. This will reset the SRS system.
Check the fuses.

The SRS light on Honda model vehicle are lit when there is a problem in the safety system. To remove the light the vehicle should be taken to an authorized dealership so they can properly diagnose the problem and reset it.
Check the airbag ring wiring behind the airbag. does it turn on when you turn the wheel?
srs is the air bag light go to dealer. Or if you want to do it yourself, try the procedure described here: http://www.civicforums.com/forums/111-electronics/155251-reset-your-srs-light.html
The SRS (supplemental restraint system) is your airbag system. The the should light up when you start your car and go away after a few seconds. If it stays on, there is a problem with the system. You should probably take it to a certified Honda mechanic or a Honda dealership
