Great question but a simple answer. The US is founded as a capitalist based system where access to things requires payment. Movies, nightclubs and, yes, hospitals are the "things" we seek access to. I did not find healthcare among the constitutional guarantess even though one might consider "health" as happiness.... Free healthcare would be wonderful, but not in the American entrepreneurial spirit. You pay for luxury and healthcare is just that. You want your hernia fixed, your gallbladder out, your face lifted? you gotta pay... Also, you want your Plumbing fixed, the BMW serviced, you pay for that.. How about transportation and clean water as "rights" if you're about to add the "right" to health care. The U.S. stands committed to be the land of opportunity and proudly boasts to support what is offered in the constitution. Unfortunately for us liberals, healthcare is not such a guarantee!! JT
