is your "NO CHARGE" warning light coming on? if not this could simply be the problem, on some vehicles the charging circuit incorperates the "NO CHARGE" bulb and if its blown the vehicle wont charge. COuld be an alternator problem ( worn bushes etc) or faulty earth lead from alternator.

Try looking for a sticker on the underside of the hood. If it's a 2.6, it should be 8 degrees BTDC.
The light is telling you that there is a problem with the charging system. You are running off the battery and will eventually get stuck with a dead battery if you continue to drive that vehicle with the battery light on. Drive to your local auto parts store and they will test the charging system for you at no cost. You are probably in need of an alternator.
I'm no mechanic, but from what I have read, the later model engines have hydraulic lash adjusters that can be tested and replaced(Haynes manual).
If the oil light comes on but the oil level is ok, the problem may be a faulty sending unit, as it turned out in my case.
Get under your truck, the starter is going to be where the bellhousing of the tranny meets the motor. you'll see where it is as there will be an irregularity in the bell housing.
It is possible that a 1993 Toyota will not start when it is cold because the battery does not have enough cranking amps to start the vehicle. Check to make sure that the battery is large enough for the job and is also charging properly.

First the gas tank will need dropped down. After doing this there are two bolts next to the cab and two bolts next to the tail gate,, take those bolts out and the bed will be free.
