Why is there not a guideline for replacing the transmission filter in the 2002 Honda Accord's owner manual?

so that the dealer can make more money when you need to bring it in :) lol i don't know why it isn't in there. you could always call and ask them though or search on the internet how to replace. Honda Accords do not have a transmission filter. That is why they recommend changing the Transmission Fluid so often. Simply change the transmission fluid as outlined in the maintenance schedule. This isn't any harder than changing the engine oil, so if you can do that, you should be able to handle it.

There is really no way to tell. Take the car to a shop and have them replace the transmission oil filter and fluid. Make sure to tell them you want the filter replaced because some places just suck out the oil and replace it without replacing the filter.
