so that the dealer can make more money when you need to bring it in :) lol i don't know why it isn't in there. you could always call and ask them though or search on the internet how to replace. Honda Accords do not have a transmission filter. That is why they recommend changing the Transmission Fluid so often. Simply change the transmission fluid as outlined in the maintenance schedule. This isn't any harder than changing the engine oil, so if you can do that, you should be able to handle it.
Because the filter is a permanent filter that does not need replacing.
your better off replacing the transmission the filter is not servicable ,,its deep in the center of the trans
Transmission filters are INSIDE the transmission. You need to remove the transmission oil pan. When you replace the filter, plan on replacing the pan gasket as well.
The Accords of this vintage have no transmission filter that can be replaced. Instead, a fine mesh screen is used, within the transmission housing, to catch debris or other particles that may find their way into the transmission fluid. This screen is only accesible when disassembling the transmission.
It is located in the transmission, only accessible, by dropping the transmission pan, not very hard to do, but lots of bolts. The transmission filter is located within the transmission. One has to remove the bottom plate of the transmission to access it. A filter usually comes with a new gasket for replacing the bottom plate, but be sure you do.
How many quarts of transmission fluid does a 2004 Taurus 3.0 OHV require when draining transmission and replacing filter
Yes. If problem persists after dropping the transmission pan, replacing the filter and fluid (approx 4 qts) then you need your transmission scanned at a reputable transmission shop that has a good scanner to read any codes your transmission has set.
what are you trying to improve???
Your transmission's filter may be clogged, you may be low on transmission fluid, or the transmission may need repair or replacement. If the transmission was full of fluid, I would suggest a transmission flush, or replacing the transmission filter and fluid. If this doesn't help the transmission may actually be damaged and may need repair or replacement.
The transmission may need to be rebuilt. If it is automatic you can try dropping the transmission oil pan and replacing the filter and fluid.
It usually takes five quarts of transmission fluid if your replacing the filter. If the transmission is completely empty, such as a new unit, it takes about ten.
your question is a bit ambiguous if you are talking about he engine oil filter it has nothing to do with the transmission do NOT put automatic transmission oil in the engine you will blow the engine
There is really no way to tell. Take the car to a shop and have them replace the transmission oil filter and fluid. Make sure to tell them you want the filter replaced because some places just suck out the oil and replace it without replacing the filter.
