Check for corrosion in the distributer and on the rotor Check for uneven compression between cylinders

Check for water in the fuel. The geo metro seems to be very senitive to water in the fuel. Either drain the tank or use a HEET type product in your fuel tank (HEET is used in colder climets to help remove water from the fuel in the tank)
