In Holland, whatever the speed you were driving, no. Insurance companies don't get that kind of information here. Unless stated otherwise in the contract, one can expect that causing accidents will raise rates because your insurer has to pay out.

The speeding ticket is a separate issue. If you don't have insurance you get done for driving without insurance, speeding or not.

If you get a speeding ticket while driving a rental car will your insurance go up?

Insurance rates are based primarily on your personal driving habits and record, so if you receive a ticket while driving a rental car it can still be reported to your insurance company because the citing officer has your drivers license information. So in short, it is definitely possible for your insurance company to raise your rate based on a speeding ticket you received while driving a rented vehicle.

Does a warning for speeding affect your insurance?

Probably not, depending on how much you were speeding by. However if you are setting up your insurance let them know about it up front because those mongrels have people that do nothing but dig up excuses for not paying you out if you have an accident. and not being upfront with your driving record can lead to problems with some insurance mobs. Warnings are not recorded on your driving record and the insurance company cannot see them.

Do insurance companies look at speeding tickets if there were no points given?

Speeding is a sure sign that you WILL have an accident soon, and the insurance company is well with-in their rights to protect themselves against bad drivers. They do this in a number of ways. One is to raise your insurance costs, to make you more aware of your driving mistakes. Another way is to cut you off, based on your driving convictions.

If someone else is driving your car and gets a speeding ticket will it affect your insurance?

No. Speeding tickets are issued to the driver not the vehicle.

If you get a speeding ticket while driving somebody elses car will their insurance go high?

The fact that a driver gets a speeding ticket has nothing to do with the owner of the car(unless it's the speeders.) The vehicle owner's insurance company will never know about the ticket, but your's will (or your parents) if you're a minor and insured under your parent's insurance. However, if there's a reportable accident involved with the speeding ticket, then the owner of the vehicle,(I'm speaking only for New York State, not sure about others), will be considered responsible for the accident, since the insurance company will now know, but the speeding goes with the driver.

How does 1 speeding ticket and 1 ticket for driving with no chains affect your insurability for driving a company vehicle?

It doesnt. In the eyes of the insurance carrier... you are still considered a good driver.. and are still entitled to the same discounts as a person with a clean record. If you are a CDL driver the speeding ticket is considered a serious violation and could cause an increase in your company's insurance. It will most likely cause an increase in your personal insurance. The other problem if you are CDL is that another serious violation in the next three years will result in suspension of your CDL license. Many insurance carriers are now excluding company drivers with three or more tickets on their MVR. If you are CDL you are required to report the speeding ticket to your employer. You can check with your DMV to see if the "No Chains" violation is on you MVR. If so this will also show to the insurance company increasing the likelyhood of you being excluded from driving. lwpat

Your driving record is one of many things that can cause your insurance rates to rise. A speeding ticket can only raise your rates and will never lower them.

Does a speeding ticket affect your insurance rates in Kansas?

Speeding tickets and other accidents and violations will affect your auto insurance rates no matter what state you are in. The speed at which you were speeding can also affect your rates. One minor ticket will make very little difference in your insurance rate. Some companies do not increase your rate for just one minor violation in a three year period. It depends on the insurance company and their regulations.
