Zebra Danios (Brachidanio rerio) are usually bred in small tanks of around 24"x12"x12" in about 4 or 5 inches of water. They scatter none adhesive ova (eggs) which sink to the bottom fairly rapidly. A layer of glass marbles is usually placd on the base of the tank so that the ova can slip down between them to stop the adults from being able to eat them. Once spawning is complete the adults are removed from the tank.
GloFish are a patented product and breeding is restricted by law. GloFish are genetically engineered zebra danios. Breed them will not produce GloFish that are true to color. They will look like regular zebra danios. They are egg layers. If you have males and females together you will get fry.
Glow fish are Zebra Danios (Brachydanio rereio) that have had an extra gene from a jellyfish added artificially to make them glow. I do not know if their fry will carry the artificial "glow" gene ot not. In order to breed them you will have to follow the basic rules for breeding Danios.
i have 2 fantails and 7 danios live in 14 gallon tank very happy together. danios can be known to fin nip but this is more likely to happen when there are only two or three of them. they are more happy living in schools of 6 or more. they dont bother with the fantail at all.
Yes
id say guppies, they breed like rabbits
That tank setup is fine. In fact, you could even add 1 or 2 more zebra danio(s). It is recommended that danios live in a shoal of at least 5.
yes as long as there are not any other males or female bettas
No glofish are a patented strain of zebra danios and its illegal to sell, trade, or even purposely breed glofish.
Only the giant danios, the smaller ones will become dinner one day. And it all depends on your parrot's personality... Mine will chase and try to eat any and all other fish in her tank!
There shouldn't be any problems with that. If you are trying to avoid fry, I wouldn't worry about mixing genders - the fry usually get eaten within 2-3 days of hatching if you leave them in with the parents.
Usually community fish are the most active and they school together swimming back and forth throughout the tank. Stay away from the bigger fish who have a tendency to look for hiding places.
Yes, they are about the same size and they both community fish.
