In every state, landlords have a common law duty to provide adequate Plumbing. In your case, the plumbing was blocked before you moved in. Accordingly, your landlord cannot hold you responsible for fixing or unblocking the pipes.

If your landlord demands that you pay for the blocked pipes or you continue to have plumbing problems, you will need to see a landlord-tenant law attorney or tenant's rights group in your area.

Your landlord is responsible for maintaining the plumbing according to the law. Your landlord is also responsible for reminding tenants to stop flushing tampons.

If someone else is being irresponsible by flushing tampons then that's not your problem.

Ceiling falls in who is responsible for damage to renters property?

As a general rule, you are responsible for any damage to your property. However, if your landlord knew of problems with the ceiling but did not get them fixed promptly, he may be responsible for the damage to your property. Also, if the ceiling collapse was caused by faulty construction (i.e. the ceiling did not comply with local building codes), you would be able to sue your landlord for failing to keep the property up to building code. Finally, since landlord-tenant laws vary from state to state, your state may have a specific law that holds your landlord responsible for the damage. You should immediately see a tenant's rights agency or landlord-tenant attorney who can review your specific situation.

Can a landlord ask for a deposit after I have been renting from him more than 3 years?

If you have a pet and have lived in an residence for four years, the landlord may be entitled to a pet deposit. Your residence is not permanent: you are a tenant, and your pet can cause damage, because it's an animal. One day, when you move out, the landlord needs to prepare the residence for a new tenant. Your landlord may be a little tardy in asking for a deposit. You may be able to negotiate the deposit if you bring your landlord into your residence and show that after four years, there is no pet damage. Your landlord may counter that your pet could damage the residence in the future, and the landlord would be correct. Finally, when you do move out, at least your landlord may want to remove trace evidence of a pet having lived in the residence, including dander, pet hair, aquarium damage, and so forth. Your pet deposit would cover this expense.

Can a landlord demand carpets to be cleanded 6 months in to the lease. I pd. a 600 Security deposit and they said would evict if the carpets are not cleaned?

If there is a provision on the lease which requires that your carpet be cleaned six months prior to the expiration of the lease, then the landlord has the right to enforce those provisions. Additionally, if the carpet is damaged or dirty because of obvious abuse by the tenant and not the cause of normal wear and tear on the carpet, the landlord has the right to demand that the carpet be cleaned. However, if the carpet was not brand-new, then whatever dirt or damage occurred to it is measured according to wear and tear by the age of the carpet. Carpeting of five years of age or older is usually deemed to have reached its maximum age, for which the landlord has no claim. Finally, the landlord may not keep your entire security deposit simply because you didn't clean the carpet: he can only deduct the cost of cleaning the carpet from the security deposit. I doubt that your landlord can evict you simply because your carpet is dirty. If you have only been in your apartment for six months and your landlord evicts you because the carpet is dirty, then I would take pictures and present them to court to fight your landlord.

Some good African American hairstyles are wavy updo, color blocked, and classic curls. Wavy updo can be achieved by shaving the sides and "poofing" the top. Color blocked just consists of adding light highlights to a darker hair. Finally, classic curls is just using a curler to curl one's hair.

Does landlord have to replace pet stained carpet before you move in?

This depends on your local housing codes. This would seem like a cosmetic issue and would be in the landlords best interest to do so, but he may not be lawfully required. He can rent the apartment in any condition as long as it meets the definition of "habitable" and meets local house and building codes. You have a few options, either don't rent the place or reach an agreement in writing with the landlord about the carpets. You may try an agreement such as "I will have the carpets professionally cleaned and whatever that cost is, you deduct it from next months rent." Finally, should you sign a leasehold for the apartment, you should note in the initial walk-through, the condition of the carpet and takes photos of it. This protects your personal interests should the landlord attempt to blame you for the damage to the carpets (and incidents such as this have happened in many jurisdictions).
