You need to BCLear. Why did you replace it? Different reasons need different procedures.
Needs to be done by person certified to handle refridgerant properly evacuate system replace compressor vaccuum system and leak check properly add correct type and amound of compressor oil properly add refridgerant
Top end maintenance would be maintenance done to the head, or top of the engine. Typically this included grinding the valves, replacing valve seals, milling the head flat, and replacing the gaskets.
Depending on where a person lives and where they have the repair done, the labor for replacing the starter on a 2000 Saturn SL2 will cost between $186 and $238. The cost for the parts will be $149 to $261 plus tax.
NO. at least not in a cost effective manner. while engine swaps CAN be done... all components associated with EVERYTHING must be changed too. ie computer, transmission. wiring, all under hood accessories.... therefore... not worth doing.
A head gasket replacement should definitely be covered under a power train warranty. As long as the dealer does not find a cause for the failure and attribute it to poor maintenance or something else that you could have done to cause the failure.
My first guess without seeing it is that the contactor is stuck (welded) shut and needs to be replaced. If you have not already done so turn the outdoor unit off until this is fixed or you will be replacing the compressor too.
cant be done without clearing the lines out you maybe better off buying a new compressor than replacing the clutch on your old one very tricky task and may not be worth the hassle. requires a special tool
The cost of replacing a water pump if the person is doing it at home should be under 100 dollars. If done at a shop the price varies drastically around 250 would be average.
I am going through the same thing on a 2003 taurus. this is really a pain in the rear. As far as i can tell, i need to remove the entire steering column. I am out of daylight today and as soon as i get done I will post the results here.
I am having the same issues with a 1995 ford taurus. I think I have traced it to the solenoid. When the car doesn't start, I simply pop the hood, take the negative cable off the battery for a few seconds and replace it. The car has started everytime when I have done this. I am going to be replacing the solenoid this weekend to see if it fixes the issue.
get a coolant pressure test done to locate the leak. is it leaking outside? if so it could be MANY things, most common is a hose or the water pump.
You can "readily" do it yourself! The hub/bearing assembly is held onto the steering knuckle with 3 bolts. See "Related Questions" below for more
I am looking at doing it myself. I have a 1992 dx and 1994 lx and both compressors are out. My 92 is whirrling from the compressor bearings going out. I was told after you are done replacing it , you still have to get the AC serviced. I also think you have to purge the system/vent the lines that run through it. I am looking at the combined comressor/clutch. How much did you find a new compressor for? If you find one under 400.00 let me know. Thanks
This can be a sign of a bad compressor and you will need to run a compressor check first, this can be done without draining the freon....
We cannot show pictures, however replacing the alternator on most models and years of Taurus is very easy. It is at top right of engine and even the belt tensioner is easy to access. If you are careful and don't totally remove the belt from the lower pulleys, the entire replacement of alternator can easily be done in less than an hour.We cannot show pictures, however replacing the alternator on most models and years of Taurus is very easy. This is dangerous and must not be done.
