Europe, Northern Asia. The cold war was a period of tension between the Soviet Union & Communist China and the United States & the NATO and SEATO countries. It was not a shooting war although it got close during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War were a result of the cold war as the Communist countries attempted to expand their influence in Southeast Asia, successfully in one case and failing in the other.
