N & S Vietnam were created as one term in the treaty signed between the French and the Communist government in Vietnam. The country was supposed to hold democratic election and reunification itself by 1956; no other countries were allowed to interfere. This did not happen as the US came replacing the French in South Vietnam to stop the spread of communism in the South East Asia, violating the treaty. This led to the Vietnam War later
According to the Paris Peace Accords, the U.S. and their allied troops withdrew from South Vietnam by the end of April, 1973, leaving South Vietnam, and allowing them to decide for themselves the future status of their country. Within two years (April, 1975), North Vietnam forces occupied the south - including the Presidential Palace in SaiGon, where South Vietnam's Premier surrendered to the north.
The US Army encountered NVA regulars, in force, for the first time at the Ia Drang fight in '65 (see film; "We Were Soldiers..."). But US troops encountered them as early as '62 (see film; "Bright Shining Lie"). Out and out NVA invasions supported by their T54 tanks occurred during the 1972 Easter invasions, and the final NVA assault occurred in '75...it was their TANKS that crashed thru the south's capital's gates in 1975...not their infantrymen!
The French Indo-China War (1946-1954) had been fought by Viet Minch forces supported by the communists, and the French supported by the free world (US). As part of an agreement to end the war, the communists would have Vietnam north of the 17th parallel, and the free world would have the southern portion of Vietnam south of the 17th parallel.
It has effected the u.s. by effecting the people in it and the people has an effect on the comunity and so on..........
im not an expert on this but i think that the Vietnam War could have accomplish SOMETHING. like... - Americans saw that they could not always win - Vietnam is recovering quite well - wars like this tells us that evil can sometimes conquer over good - the Vietnam war is something future people can learn about and reflect on - communism can be good SOMETIMES sorry if my answers not that good but that's what i understand anyways the Vietnam war accomplishes nothing but death!!!!!!!
Geneva accords
1) France agreed to withdraw its troops. 2) Vietnam was to be divided by a cease-fire line named the 17th parallel. 3) The North (Communist) was to be controlled by the Viet Minh and the South (Democratic) continued to be led by the Bao Dai government (until Diem ousted him in 1955). Both military sides were demanded to retreat to their respective zones and had 300 days to do so. 4) Elections were to be held in 1956 (two years later) for the reunification of the country (these elections were never held).
The Geneva Conference of 1954 primarily aimed to address the conflict in Indochina and resulted in the division of Vietnam at the 17th parallel into North Vietnam and South Vietnam. It established a temporary ceasefire and called for nationwide elections to unify the country, which ultimately did not occur. The conference also aimed to address broader issues of decolonization and the future of Cambodia and Laos. The decisions made at Geneva set the stage for increased U.S. involvement in Vietnam and the subsequent escalation of conflict.
The Geneva Conference of 1954 ultimately failed to achieve a lasting resolution for Vietnam due to deep-seated divisions among the participating nations, particularly between the communist bloc and Western powers. Disagreements over the future governance of Vietnam and the broader geopolitical tensions of the Cold War hindered consensus. Additionally, the lack of trust and commitment from both the North and South Vietnamese leaders to adhere to the conference's agreements further contributed to its ineffectiveness. As a result, the conference did not establish a stable peace, leading to continued conflict in the region.
The goal of the Geneva Conference, held in 1954 following the defeat of French forces in Indochina, was to negotiate a resolution to the conflict in Vietnam and to establish a framework for peace in the region. The conference aimed to temporarily divide Vietnam at the 17th parallel, leading to the establishment of North Vietnam under communist control and South Vietnam under a non-communist government. Additionally, it sought to set the stage for future elections to unify the country. The outcomes, however, contributed to increased tensions and conflict, ultimately leading to the Vietnam War.
the future perfect of "decide" is "have decided".
The motto of Geneva Business School is 'Real Business. Future Leaders'.
will decide or going to decide or decidingor will have decided.Examples:I will decide about the party tomorrow.I am going to decide about the party tomorrow.I am deciding about the party tomorrow.I will have decided about tomorrow's party by tonight.
it can hurt
The Geneva Conference in 1954 was a diplomatic meeting aimed at resolving issues resulting from the Korean War and the First Indochina War. It resulted in a series of agreements, including the temporary division of Vietnam at the 17th parallel, with the North led by the Communist government of Ho Chi Minh and the South under a non-Communist regime. The conference also sought to establish a framework for peace in Korea, though tensions remained high, leading to further conflict. Ultimately, the conference highlighted the growing divisions of the Cold War and set the stage for future conflicts in Southeast Asia.
The 1954 Geneva Accords temporarily divided Vietnam at the 17th parallel into two separate entities: North Vietnam, led by the communist leader Ho Chi Minh, and South Vietnam, backed by the United States and other Western nations. The agreement aimed to resolve the conflict between French colonial forces and the Viet Minh, establishing a framework for elections to reunify the country within two years. However, these elections never occurred, leading to increased tensions and ultimately the Vietnam War. The division solidified Vietnam's split into communist North and non-communist South, setting the stage for future conflict.
