When are the hands part of the ball if ever?
Hands are considered part of the ball when in contact with the ball. If a defender strikes the hands of a player which are holding the ball, it is considered to be the same as the defender striking the ball. (I am a basketball referee certified by IAABO)

First, you must know where the post is. The post is near the paint, which is the rectangle in front of the basket. The post is right near the paint close to the basket, within that range. Posting up is when you have backed your man down into the post and have received the ball. That is posting up.
What is the average vertical jump?
The answer depends on three things: gender, height, and weight. Typically tall skinny males are the highest jumpers, due to increased strength, longer legs, and less weight to move. The website http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/VerticalJump.html gives a calculator into which you can enter your personal data and figure out the average for your age group. (This calculator unfortunately doesn't factor weight/height into the average jump. As long as the age group is the same, somebody five feet tall and 500 pounds has the same average jump [according to the website] as somebody seven feet tall and 200 pounds.)
Will jumping everyday help you jump higher?
Increasing your vertical jump takes a lot of time. You have to have good strength, flexibility, speed, and genetics to have a good vertical leap. You can build strength by doing basic excercises such as squats, lunges, calf raises, or leg extensions(you need a machine to do these) Once you build up your strength, start working on your speed. Do plyometrics to increase your speed. Pylometric excersises help to build expolision in your jump, which gets you higher in the air. Any type of excercise is very demanding on your body, so make sure you don't push yourself too hard, or you will get injurred. Take it easy and build yourself up to harder excercises. Make sure you eat plenty of protein and vitamins. Also, you HAVE TO STRETCH before and after you excercise. You are severely damaging your muscules if you don't stretch. Stretching builds elasticity in your muscles, and this helps increase your vertical. You can go to youtube and look at different excersises you can do to help your jump. Pace yourself and don't get discouraged. Good luck =) Please visit the website: improvingyourverticaljump.webs.com It really helps a lot
Yes, he played both guard positions.
At the end of Jerry West's career, coach Bill Sharman who was once a great Boston Celtics guard, asked Jerry West to become more of a facilitator. West did and moved to the point guard position, and with this move he lead the NBA in Assists in 1972 at 9.7 assists per game and still scored over 25 points a game. The Lakers with West now at point and Gail Goodrich at shooting guard went on to win 33 games in a row, still a record today, and that team posted at that time the best record ever at 69 and 13 to win their first championship in LA. Jerry West that year probably should have won the MVP award, for his passing, scoring, and his first team NBA defensive team selection. In those years they didn't yet keep statistics on blocked shots and steals, and West's totals were greater than any guard for both. Jerry West, one of the greatest guards to ever play the game.
there are two different shots in basketball
the jump shot is where the player jumps to their highest peak then releases the ball usually just above their forehead.
Now the set shot is where you do not jump as high.
Set shots are typically slower releases than jump shots as well.
For a set shot you square your body {feet, arms} to the basket bend the knees and shoot.
==={I use the shot when I was close to the basket when I was free from my marker.}===

What to Look for in a Good Pair of Nurse Shoes?
Nurse shoes are more commonly known as clinic shoes, as clinical workers spend so much of the shift on their feet. These shoes are worn not only by nurses, both male and female, but by technicians and doctors, in fact, anyone else in the clinic who works long hours and cares about their feet.
Nursing shoes are usually white. Most styles are lace up, but are also available in slip on and clog style. They are low-heeled and have good arch support. The soles are usually made of a softer material than regular shoes, and a thicker sole that absorbs the shocks and pressures of walking long distances or standing for many hours.
There is no getting around the fact that clinical shoes are much more expensive than other kinds of shoes, such as sneaker or penny loafer styles. Usually, though, they are not as expensive as name brand basketball shoes. The price could be compared to a name-brand cross trainer shoe, or quality walking-style or clog shoes. In fact, many clinical workers will wear the aforementioned styles, because they do have good support. However, for a more professional appearance, nursing staff will choose to wear name brand clinic shoes.
Whatever style of shoes clinic personnel prefer, what they refuse to wear are cheap shoes such as discount store sneakers or loafers. Experienced workers know that saving money on shoes equals fatigue, pain, and in the end, deformities of the foot, such as bunions, that are caused by cheap shoes.
Nursing shoes should be easy to maintain, with a surface that can be wiped clean with a sponge or wet paper towel. Choose a shoe that can be easily polished, and do so at least once a week to keep them looking fresh and professional. Buy shoes that will accommodate socks, as they will absorb perspiration. Try on shoes after a shift, when feet are the size they are after being on them all day.
With the right choice of clinic footwear, pain and exhaustion will cease to ruin your work day, and more importantly, your family time after work. Pay a little more now for the correct shoes, and reap the benefits for months to come.
