Remove the water supply hose from your Chevy Equinox thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Lift the old thermostat out and drop in the new thermostat.

You will need an adapter bellhousing, if there is any in production. You will just have to do some serious research on Google and other search engines. You will probably have better luck installing a Powerglide transmission.

Condition - condition - condition. Post it for sale on ebay. It may cost a few bucks but you'll get a feel for what it's REALLY worth. Not someone else's subjective value.

Remove the water return line from your 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck water pump. Remove the water pump belt. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.

At the base of the distributor, there is a tab that hold it down. Loosen the bolt, slightly, so the distributor turns, with a fair amount of effort. Clock wise retards the timinmg, counter, advances. If there is a black rubber vaccuum hose running into a silvercanister, on the distributor, pull it off, and plug it with a pencil, at the distributor. This is the vaccuum advance, and will register a false reading if active. From the drivers side, look down at the harmonic balancer. This is the part that the bottom crankshaft pully bolts to. You will see a groove accross the surface, somewhere. Mark this with chalk, or white paint. Sticking out of the timing cover, below the water pump, you will see a tab sticking out. Wipe it clean, and you will see numbers on it. In the middle you will see a 0. Above the 0, you will see number 2, then 4. This is advanced, or BTDC. (Before top dead center) All engines have to have some advance in them to run properly. Now Chevy made a whole slew of different big blocks, with as many different cams. So, the timing is a variable, but, I would recommend all the advance possible, for best performance, on available pump gas. I would start at 4 degrees advanced, and keep advancing it until it pings on acceleration. You will need a timing light to set the timing, properly. When you hook it up, shine the strobe down at the timing tab, and turn the distributor until the white mark on the balancer, lines up with the 4 degrees mark on the tab. Tighten the distributor, and reconnect the vaccuum hose.

I had one do that and it turned out to be the coolant temp sensor next to the thermostat was bad.

The thermostat for this application is located on the front of the engine and facing forward of the bay. Its housing will have two bolts, and can be easily identified by the upper radiator hose attached.

yes you can but you might have to change your intake.

Remove the inside door panel from your 1991 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. Remove the wiring harness from the mirror. Remove the driver side mirror retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new driver side mirror.

the starter on a 1997 Suburban is on the side of the engine. It is at the rear where the transmission meets the engine.

is the problem,that the flywheel teeth are being chewed out and same on starter.

or is the problem that starter and flywheel do not mesh properly when engaged?

if either of thses is the problem,this means that the gear on the starter is not matched to the teeth on the flywheel.

other problem that could be causing this is none or incorrect shims used when installing starter motor.

to fix this, you need to make a mark on the flywheel(use white out or something like that),and count the number of teeth.then do same on the starter motor.then find out from a drive line specialist,how many teeth shoud be on starter motor to match the flywheel.they can also tell you the shims to be used when installing starter motor to get proper clearance.

It is hard to say what you want to "adjust". I assume your door is not lining up and you have to slam the door really hard to get it to close. This is not an adjustment problem, it is caused by worn hinge pins. You can pick up new hinge pins at any auto parts store for about $20.00.

The firing order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 with 1,3,5,7 on the left bank and 2,4,6,8 on the right bank. The distributor turns clockwise.

Automobile fuses are quite easy to change. The fuses simply lift out and plug in. You can remove the fuse with a fuse puller or needle nose pliers.

PLEASE,,,That sound is a connecting rod!! It will be going out the side of the block if you don't park it. Right now it can be repaired,Take out engine,put it on a stand, drain oil flip it up side down.Remove balance shaft/oil pump, change connecting rod brearings.BUT please dond drive it. Remove the decorative stereo retaining cover. Remove the stereo retaining screws. Slide the stereo out and remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable.

Drain the radiator. disconnect the heater hoses as they go through the firewall. From inside of the cab, remove the heater core housing, then the core. Reverse the procedure to finish the installation.

You can change the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
