The answer is not fully correct. Bore is indeed the size, meaning the "diameter" of the pistons, and the strokeis actually the "depth" of the piston from top to bottom. In other words, it is the distance that the pistons undergo in one stroke ( as explained above ). for example, in service manuals you will find : Bore and Stroke - 74 X 58 mm that is : Bore = 74mm & Stroke = 58mm . :) Ophir BYv :)

How do you replace the exhaust manifold passenger side on a 87 Chevy pickup 34 ton 4x4?
305/350 I'm guessing?, The manifold is held onto the head by 6 bolts. The front "y" pipe has 3 studs holding it to the manifold. If you live in an area where corrosion is a problem you will have to heat the "y" pipe flange nuts up with a cutting torch to get them off or pull the studs out of the manifold (heat with torch also). If the bolts going into the head are in good shape then remove all but the end ones. If the heads of the bolts are to rotten to get a wrench or SIX point socket on, cut off the heads of the bolts flush with the manifold , pry and/or hammer the manifold off and the bolts should come out of the head by using vise grips or pliers. I would pull the spark plugs so they don't get broken at this time. Make sure everything is clear, take out the 2 end bolts and the manifold will come off. If you are replacing the gasket because it's leaking, get the manifold planed so it doesn't blow out the new gasket. Don't forget to replace the gasket at the "y" pipe connection also. Use the same length bolts & studs as what came out. Bolts & studs are 3/8 x 16.

You have to prime your carburetor every morning on my Chevy 454?
If the vehicle runs fine otherwise, then the needle valve and seat in the carburetor are defective or stuck open. Could be nothing more than debris in the seat. This allows all the fuel in the float bowl to drain out overnight thus requiring you to prime the carburetor. This fuel ends up in you oil pan and can cause some serious damage if not repaired. Remove the carburetor and remove and replace the needle valve and seat. Be sure to clean everything throughly with a good carb cleaner. Also check the float for pin holes and replace if necessary. You may want to totally rebuild the carburetor if you find it is in bad shape. Be sure and change your oil & filter before driving this vehicle as the oil is contaminated with fuel.

I had bought an 87 Blazer when they came out that year and drove the dickens out of it until it was t-boned by a runaway 68 BelAir in 93. I never had a mechanical failure with the Vortec engine. The belt retention frame broke and I drove the Blazer without the fan belt about 3 miles home and the temp gage was trying to register white hot. I fixed the frame and the engine worked flawlessly. When the Blazer died, it had 178,000 miles and I couldn't save the engine because of insurance regs. Too bad.
