Copernicus

This theory was developed by the ancient Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy. Known as the Ptolemaic system, it held that planets move in circular orbits around the Earth. This geocentric model was widely accepted until the heliocentric model proposed by Copernicus in the 16th century.

Johannes Kepler, a German scientist, provided the mathematical framework and evidence to support Copernicus' heliocentric theory. Kepler's laws of planetary motion helped confirm that the Earth and other planets revolve around the sun.

Galileo discovered Jupiter's Moons. After them for a while, he realized that they orbited around the planet.

He took a look at Mars and Venus and realized that they orbited around the Sun. This let him think that the Earth was orbiting the sun as well.

copernicus gave a path way for many other scientists and he also created the theory of heliocentricity wich is the theory that the each goes around the son wich disproved geocentric. he also proved that the earth was on a axes thus calculating 24 hours in a day

From about 1510-1514 Copernicus developed his first general outline of his new heliocentric system.

He believed the sun was the center of the solar system and set out, with much difficulty, in proving it to the Catholic church and the scientific world.

He had a stroke at about 70 years of age. He got his right side paralyzed then a few days later got into a coma.

Copernicus was an astronomer who stated that the sun was at the center of our solar system and that the planets rotated around it. Up until that time it was commonly believed that the planets, and the sun, rotated around the Earth. He wasn't the first, but was definitely the most famous for it. He also worked to develop better telescopes during the course of his studies.

Nicolaus died of a stroke. It was lucky he died at that time because if he had lived he would have been accused of heresy for putting the heliocentric theory in place and burned to death as a punishment. he died while holding a book publishing his heliocentric theory. The doctors were very sad because they could not save him
