It could do anything. Even if it is not listed in the common side effects, even the drug companies don't know what their drugs do 100%. Weight gain is a common side effect for birth control. Anything that messes with your hormones can cause stomach problems and a number of other things. Talk it over with your Dr., and don't drink anything with phosphoric acid since Depo has been linked to some bone density problems.

First and foremost you must realize that the people at Answers.com are not doctors and for the most part we answer questions based upon personal knowledge, common sense, and perhaps we have experience in a particular field. That being said the best thing you can do is seek the advice of a Doctor. Peeing blood isn't a natural occurance and since you haven't specified your gender all the more reason to seek medical assistance. Good Luck
Birth Control pills are not long acting. That is why you have bleeding if you miss just 1 dose. If you have missed a week you can get pregnant. You will need to use a back up method until you can begin taking the pills again.
i was told by the nurse at my local doctors that i would probably never get a period again, that was after i had 3 shots of the injection but i am no longer using it as i got too many of the side affects from using that method of contraception and its not good when ive got a nealry 10 month old hope ive helped
WEll the shot works differently for different people .. My friend has never had a period but i spotted a month later so just be prepared for anything at all times and keep up with your period on and off time!
I don't believe so. I got one shot of the depo and bled for 9 weeks straight. The whole time I bled it was brown not a red color. It wasn't a constant bleed around the same time everyday only lasting for about 4 hours. If you have any questions about it I may beable to help. quiet_one212@yahoo.com
brown discharge is not a sign that the shot is wearing off I've been on depo since i was 16 I'm now 24 years old and i don't get my period but usually at the ending of 3 months when i am due for my shot i usually will get spotting and usually have brown spotting along with it as well its just a sign that some times your period is trying to come back but usually if you get you next shot it goes away
You would need a prescription. I believe you also need someone to administer it. So it would not be the best thing to do.
It depends on your own body, health, how long you were on hormonal birth control, and whether you had any hormonal problems prior to going onto hormonal birth control.
It can take up to twelve months for your cycles to regulate once you stop taking the combination pill as it takes time for your body to reestablish normal hormonal balance. This does not mean that you will not menstruate, after your initial withdrawal bleed coming off hormonal birth control you should menstruate within three months - if you don't then talk to your doctor.
You can get your next depo provera shot up to 15 weeks after the last without worrying. If you don't make that deadline, be sure to use a backup method of birth control until you get your next shot.
Most people have amenorrhea (no periods) after being on the Depo-Provera for 3 years, though some spotting can occur also.
I was on Depo for 4 1/2 years, and had a very difficult time losing the pounds. I was successful by joing Weight Watchers, and lost 24 lbs. in about 3 months. But it was NOT easy. I spoke to many doctors (I work for 6 of them), and a majority claimed that Depo does not cause you to maintain lbs., but the others said that any extra hormones you add to your system will make it harder for you to lose them. Good luck! I have used Depo before and also put on 2kgs after the 1st shot. I read that it is actually a steroid contraceptive - so maybe you could research about steroids. Just to let you know that if/ when you come off Depo or choose another form of contraception you will lose weight. Hope this helps. Good luck on the weight loss journey! Dont give up, its a long hard road but you will love the end destination!
Folic acid does not aid in fertility but it is a necessary vitamin for pregnant women. It should be taken even before pregnancy. Folic Acid aids in proper spinal development and formation of the fetus.
It may take a few months to return on it's own. I was on depo provera for almost 5 years. I think it was about 45 days before I got my first period. Then, they were sporadic for the next year. The longest I can remember between periods was 3 months. My doctor told me that she could give me other hormones to straighten things out. So, if you don't want to play the waiting game ask your obgyn for help.
Some women complain of breast discharge on depo provera. Talk with your health care provider to find out if an exam is warranted.
Yes, indeed you can. In fact, women in Africa are often given Depo after the birth of their babies because it actually improves the milk supply.
Yes. 3% of women who take Depo Provera will lactate. The lactation is white, with little to no breast tenderness. A stream of lactation up to 4 feet can be induced with squeezing or milking the breast. It is in both breasts that this happens.
There is no proof that testosterone treatment can exactly reverse hair loss problem. The only medication that has proven track of records in managing hair loss for men is finasteride. It depends on your doctors advice. Usually three months before trying to conceive again. If you had a molar pregnancy you should be having regular checkups to ensure that all the prregnancy hormone has gone. As Trisha said you should wait until the doctor tells you it is all right to conceive again. According to the website http://health.allrefer.com/health/hydatidiform-mole.html this may be 6 to 12 months. it is mis-spelled above, try "molar pregnancy" if you google that, you will easily find your answer.
There is no antidote or way to reverse the effects of Depo-Provera after you've taken it besides time. If you wish to become pregnant or switch birth control methods tell your Dr and they will set up a plan for you. Fertility may take 1 to 12 months to return after stopping Depo-Provera.
Yes, you can start another form of birth control at any time.
No there is not an injection to cancel the depo injection you have o wait out the whole 12 weeks. After the injection wheres off it may take up to 12 months even loger for your menstrual cycle to come back and for you to fall pregnant.
Your body will withdraw from the shot, the hormones in your body protecting you against pregnancy will gradually decrease, you will begin to experience pregnancy or PMS symptoms due to the hormones decreasing in your body and then your at risk of pregnancy. You may also experience a withdrawal bleed.
I'm not too sure if it is the shot that makes you puke or what. But I know as personal experience that I have been puking every morning and night, not in between; just nauseousness. I had unprotected sex about a week before I got on depo shot. But I don't believe he came in me. I'm not too sure though, but that's just my out look on the shot.
I started the shot on 11-18-09. Today is 11-27-09.
yes. the doctor is bound by confidentiality and cannot discuss your medical issues with anyone.
I called a pharmacist with this very same question after suffering this symptom as well, she said only 2% in the initial studies reported it as a symptom. So yes it can, so long as you've ruled out all other factors and see no improvement.
