The brinjal plant is not considered a shrub. The non-woody plant in question (Solanum melongena) of India and Malaysia lacks a tough outer layer of tissue, known as bark, to protect its therefore soft stems. Shrubs will have many hard, tree-like stems and maximum heights of under 20 feet (6 meters).

IMHO, no. The water content of eggplant is high, so salting them helps to remove some of the moisture. But, in my experience, it makes no difference. The problem with the salting technique is that it increases the sodium content, and that can be a health issue. I prefer to microwave eggplant slices first for a few minutes, then lightly saut

It's up to your taste. Usually it's not peeled, but if you don't like the peel, then it's OK to peel it.

Although Barney does VERY much look like an idiotic walking talking eggplant that's too pinkish and has green on it, I searched on Wikipedia and it said that Barney is supposed to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and yet despite his character being the most vicious dinosaur of them all, he eats vegetables and fruits and prefers peanut butter jelly sandwiches more than anything else. Also, there is/was a complaint that Barney didn't teach children about how to solve problems, but made them think that every problem was automatically and immediately solved.
