Unless the baby goldfish is fry size which means it cannot eat regular sized food as of yet (flakes or pellets) then yes, you can put small goldfish with large goldfish.

While they may not necessarily eat the baby, there could be a concern with fin nipping, but as long as the smaller fish have a place to hide and feel safe, there shouldn't be an issue.

I have had so many debates on this issue. I have personally watched goldfish nip at fins of other goldfish, heads of orandas and even the tail of a freshwater stingray (don't ask). So yes, they are nippers.

Water changes can really vary from the size of your tank to the amount of fish you have in it.New tanks will need more water changes than well established tanks because they will have higher ammonia and nitrite levels which are more toxic than the toxins (nitrate) found in cycled tanks.In the first four-six weeks of having a newly set up tank do partial water changes whenever testing for nitrite and ammonia reveals high ammounts.Do a 10-25% water changes at a time and when your aquarium is over 6 weeks do water changes of about 25% percent every one-two weeks and when needed(that is when testing reveals high nitrate levels).

i had same problem i was told to add water conditioner from pet shop it helps remove chlorine from tap water and had aloe vera which helps protect scales. However what is most likely your problem, because goldfish can't survive in chlorine for as long as a week, is that you have your fish in too small of a bowl/tank. Having your fish in to small of a bowl/tank would result in a build up of ammonia (which is produced by your fish eating,pooping, and breathing). This build-up would damage your fish's gills and cause it to die. What could also be your problem is that you don't have enough aeration (if you saw your fish gasping for breath at the surface before it died than you don't have enough aeration.) An easy way to fix this problem is to purchase and air pump, bubble curtain, or an aerator at your local pet shop. One other possible cause for your goldfish's death is that it was just plain out unhealthy. If left untreated usually the fish would die from its ailment within a week- two weeks . Next time you get a goldfish put it in a larger container ( goldfish thrive in tanks of at least ten gallons ) and use an aerator. You should be fine as long as you use a conditioner and have a strong filter.

If your fish has turned white as opposed to become covered in white fungussy stuff, you can assume that is simply the fish developing its adult colouring. Goldfish start off grey/silver and as they grow up their adult/mature colours develop. If it is white fungussy stuff on the fish you need to do some seroius cleaning of the tank and replace the water a few times. You probably would be wise to strip the tank down and scrub everything. There are medications available at pet shops for fungus.

Firstly you need to know what is causing the cloudyness. If your set up is new and filter is large enough for the tank then it may simply be a matter of allowing time for the filter to cycle and the tank to settle. If the tank has been set up for a while maybe you have a bacterial cloud that needs to be sorted out. This could be caused by something dead rotting in the tank or it may be that the power has been off and your filter has gone bad. I would advise you to locate and remove anything that is rotting and clean or replace about 75% of your filter medium and then do a few very large (80%) water changes ASAP. If you get into a routine of changing at least 50% of the tanks water weekly you will find that you have a lot less problems.

There are so very many grey/silver fish that are similar to goldfish. It is probable however that you are refering to a goldfish that has not coloured up. Goldfish are all silver as youngsters and only develop their colouring as they grow older. Some stay grey/silver and never develop colours.

u will need to feed them piecise of scalop, crab legs n osters from ur local grocerie store. also gut loaded ghost shrimp, brine shrimp, blood worms,and most importent snails. snails r vital for puffers it helps keep there teth trimbed down.

Tropical fish flakes tend to have more/different contents because they are designed to feed several different species of fish that require a varied diet. Goldfish food is designed for just one species of fish. Since there are both Goldfish food and Tropical food available it is common sense to feed the fish the correct and appropriate foods. The answer therefore is they can and may eat them but they are not the right food for them so eventually the fish will suffer.

When goldfish breed, the male fish chase the females who dash around amongst the plants at the surface of the water. yes, they are I know they breath through their gills but by opening their mouths it's like breathing through your mouth/or drinking... but if they are doing that like super fast they are probully nervous or scared (it happened to mine when I changed its tank ) if it does it when it sees you you have to be more calm they get scared too

Salt water is a big responsibility. I suggest fresh water tanks because of the extra time I have available. Also a little tip is that when you are buying your fish (when the time comes) make sure that you buy fish that will not fight, wont grow too big for your tank. And buy fish that feed on the bottom, the middle and the top, so then your tank will be full and it wont just be all at the bottom, top or middle.

Unless the fish are really bigger than your triops the fish might get eaten.

Your Goldfish does not sleep no goldfish in the world can sleep the main this they do is go to the bottom of the tank and do not move they are resting if there it the top and floating even with there eyes open they are ded this is not nice but all goldfish do is rest.

There is a story in history regarding the death of Zachary Taylor - he died after drinking ice-cold milk and eating cherries on a very hot day, and they thought that he died from an inflamed stomach as a result of the really cold milk on a really hot day. I am relatively certain the idea that drinking cold milk on a hot day will kill you stems from this story.

They autopsied Taylor's body and found that he actually died of heat stroke. There is nothing to suggest that cold milk on a hot day is in any way dangerous or detrimental to your health.
