What televisions have picture in picture?

There are too many televisions to offer a definitive list here but a few a listed below. Please feel free to add other models with picture in picture to the list.

Here are some general comments about picture in picture facilities from a TV engineer:

Usually a TV with picture in picture will require an external input signal such as from a TV antenna or some other source. I've serviced many TV calls with complaints that the PIP doesn't work. In many cases, it's because they try to connect it to the same cable box expecting it to work. Since the cable box only displays one channel at a time, it won't work.

If you're looking for a TV with PIP, please make sure you've fuly researched the set's requirements, have asked a lot of questions and truly understand how the PIP works for that particular set.

How much more information can a Blu-ray disc hold than a CD?

Yes.

Thus it allows for more data to be stored, obviously.

This brings many benefits in for example console gaming, the PS3 able to read blu ray disks, has a big advantage over the XBOX 360 when it comes to high resolution games.

The textures that the game uses, don't have to be compressed and packed on a blu ray disk, thus, the console doesn't have to do any computing work to decompress the textures, the XBOX360 on the other hand has to compress all the textures on certain games, because the HD-DVD doesn't have the capacity to carry all uncompressed textures. And therefore, with its compressed textures, it has to sacrifice from its already low computing power to decompress the textures.

The reason why most of the games until now have been equal or better for the XBOX360 in terms of graphics, is because the PS3 uses a very sophisticated and complicated CPU structure, which would require a lot more work to utilize all the power.

Since the XBOX360 uses a "regular desktop CPU" (if I remember correctly a 3-core CPU), programmers have preferred to develop the games utilizing regular programming style, making it not very compatible for the PS3, this is where the developers would cut the graphics on the PS3, because there is no time to reprogram almost everything just that it runs smooth on the PS3.

Now however, the XBOX360 has reached its limit in power, and developers have started to do it the other way, program the games for the rather special PS3 CPU, utilizing all the power it has to offer, making games look very good.

A single-layer disc can hold 25GB.

A dual-layer disc can hold 50GB.

To ensure that the Blu-ray Disc format is easily extendable (future-proof) it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future simply by adding more layers to the discs.

What is the highest hd tv resolution?

High definition television is the highest form of digital television. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the same as a movie theater screen. This is possibly HD's biggest selling point. The other is the resolution. High definition is the best available picture on a television. It comes in three different flavors: 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

What do 720p, 1080i and 1080p mean? High definition programs are encoded with a type of resolution: 720p, 1080i or 1080p. The number stands for the amount of lines embedded within the signal. The letter describes the type of scan the television uses to display the picture. The 'i' means interlaced and the 'p' means progressive. Why does the amount of lines matter? The number of lines on a television is important because it allows for greater detail in the image. This is a similar concept to digital photos and how dpi determines print quality. The type of televisions all of us grew up watching had 480 visible lines on the screen. By doubling the amount of lines in combination with the type of scan, HD essentially doubles the quality of picture. Does it matter if the resolution is interlaced or progressive? The type of scan is arguable considering the amount of lines for each HD format. Progressive scan is a better type of scan because it doubles the amount of times the TV displays the image per one second in comparison to interlaced. Still, the difference between 720p and 1080i is so minimal that is isn't an issue at all. While 1080p is better than 720p and 1080i, very few programs are made in this resolution so it really isn't a factor right now…and, it might never be.

Can you safely store a LCD TV in a very cold climate for a long period of time?

LCD. Liquid Crystal Display. So if your storing it below freezing then no it will not survive.

Actually LCD's arent a liquid, its a crystal display that due the way it reacts to electric fields acts like liquid. Lcd's will not freeze, the only thing is until warmed up they will have slow performance. LCD's are left outside in numerous places, car navigation screens, amusement parks, even snowmobile tachometers now use lcd displays.

An LCD will be fine stored in cold, just let it warm up before using and make sure the place your storing it is dry, humidity is what will kill your electronics not cold.

Now Plasma displays are a different story DO NOT let them freeze.
