The Lower Peninsula (the mitten-shaped one) is mostly flat and level, with valleys and other stuff here and there. Generally its very cold and snowy. In the UP, Marquette gets the most annual snowfall out of all of the US. It pretty much constantly snows up there. In the LP, the west side of the state gets the most snow, from the water off Lake Michigan. I live in central LP, and its generally between 15-30 F with about 5-7 inches of snow. But last winter was freakishly hot.
