Does clonidine bind to mu receptors?
Clonidine acts on alpha-2 receptors - I have never read that it has activity on mu receptors.
No, most of the time you cannot even tell if you have them unless you get special imaging of your spine (eg: x-ray or MRI). They are sometimes associated with disorders that can cause some back pain, but on their own, schmorl's nodes are usually clinically irrelevant.
What is the punishment for stealing six pain pills?
If they're aspirin, it would be petty theft (a misdemeanor).
If they're hydrocodone, the theft itself is probably still a misdemeanor, but you could add "possession of a controlled substance" to it, which means you could be looking at a much more severe sentence.
As is generally the case with legal matters, it's impossible for us to give a definitive answer since the law varies from location to location and judges usually have considerable discretion in sentencing. If you really need to know, check with a local attorney (it probably won't be free).
Can a brain tumor cause someone to fall asleep anytime anywhere?
Since the brain is the controller of the body, a tumor's presence can cause almost anything in the body to become dysfunctional. Most frequently the diagnosis of someone who falls asleep abruptly and without control is Narcolepsy.
There could be a multitude of non-dangerous things it could be... I suggest you see a physician to make sure nothing bad is developing. I don't want to scare you, but heed the following: Back ache with pain into both legs could be an aneurysm of the abdominal aorta, the main artery that carries blood from the heart, through the abdomen, and into the legs. An aneurysm is a weakening of the wall of the artery, allowing the involved area to dilate (like blowing up one of those long skinny balloons). If the aneurysm dilates enough, it can rupture and survival is measured in the time it takes a surgeon to diagnose and get you to the operating room. There can also be a growth involving the uterus that can cause symptoms similar to what you describe... My suggestion... See a doctor!

Having low back pain and also pain in side that goes down my left leg.?
The pain you're describing is typical of a disk herniation at the L3/L4 disk. This can be confirmed through an MRI or CT, but the symptoms are pretty identifiable: sharp, stabbing pain at the lower/mid back region, that follows down the side of the spine, across the waist and hip, across the left or right thigh, and stopping at the inside of the knee. If the pain goes down the back of the leg, then the disk involved is usually the L4/L5 or S1 disks.
The reason the pain travels down the leg is that the nerve is being compressed by the disk herniation, which is when the disk bursts through its protective membrane at weak spot. The pain travels down the nerve pathway, which is how you can tell which disk is being affected.
Many things can cause a disk herniation - it can be something as traumatic as an accident, or something as simple as bending over to pick up a pencil off of the floor. While the membrane will eventually heal, it will always be a weak spot and prone to being herniated again.
Any kind of pain like that lasting more than a week should be looked at by a doctor, preferably a neurosurgeon (stay away from orthopedists - they know jack about dealing with spinal nerves), to get an MRI or CT done to confirm the problem. If the herniation is bad enough, it will also cause muscle spasms, which feel like sharp, shooting pains in the area of herniation. The normal treatment is anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and bedrest - getting pressure off of the spine is the most important thing in getting it to heal. Do not sleep on your stomach, and if you do on your back make sure your legs are elevated enough to get pressure off the lower back. The best position is on your side in a fetal position, with a large pillow or cushion between your legs/knees to get pressure off of the hips/lower spine. It takes time to heal - in the days when I still had those disks I sometimes spent as long as a month or more on my back healing up.
Doing nothing is a bad idea, regardless of whatever responsibilities you may have. If you don't deal with it, the chances of real long term damage are probable, and if you think you're in pain now, then you'll learn a whole new range of definitions for pain.
I've added some links below to some good pain and spine sites - check them out and find yourself a good doctor to deal with it. The longer you let it go, the worse it will be and harder to treat later on. Don't let anyone talk you into surgery unless you're at the point where you're facing a wheelchair either.
How is pain connected with fatigue and depression?
It is known that pain in itself can actually cause depression. Fatigue from lack of sleep or the illness itself also contribute to depressed feelings.
How much rhus tox 200 philles do you take for joint and muscle pain?
Rhus Toxicodendron is an excellent joint remedy but for this remedy to help with your condition it must follow the law of similars. Your joint pain must be similar to the joint pain that rhus tox addresses. Rhus tox is a restless remedy. The person needing rhus tox would want to pace the room. However, it is also known as the "rusty gate" remedy. Upon first motion the joints are "rhusty" stiff and difficult to move but better with continued motion. The rule in homeopathy is minimum dose. So you do not repeat homeopathic remedies unless your symptoms call for a repetition. Begin with 30 c, it's best to put a couple pellets in 4-8oz water and take a teaspoon of the water as a dose. Do not drink the whole cup. You can expect the remedy to begin work quickly if it is the right remedy for you. Take up to 3 doses but if it's not working by then wrong remedy. If you get new symptoms, wrong remedy - then you would be "proving it" and those new symptoms will quickly go away. After it begins working, don't take another dose until the effect slows down, then go ahead and take another teaspoon. If it's a good remedy for you, you can try the 200 but I would recommend it at first - minimal dose.
A drug to reduce or relieve pain is called?
Medications that relieve pain are called opioid analgesics.
Pain pathway generation and processing of fast pain impulse?
there are pain receptors in the skin, when we get any pain stimulus it pass through this receptors and goes to the CNS.
the stimulus pass through the dorsal nerve root to the marginal nucleus and substenti gelatinosa of Rolando which are the nucleus of the spinal cord.
from there the pain changes its side and goes to the other side and travel through the lateral spinothalamic tract(paleospinothalamic tract and neospinothalamic tract)
by this pathway it reaches to the higher centers of brain like limbic system, thalamus and to the paraqidactal gray matter.
from these nucleus it radiates to the sensory cortex,
this is how we feel the pain.
Can meloxicam be used for toothache pain?
Since it's an NSAID, yes. It helps relieve inflammation and pain.
What parts of the body have the most pain receptors?
In the appendix, which is located in the lower right-hand part of the abdomen.
An AGN is an active galactic nucleus, a compact region at the centre of a galaxy with a much higher than normal luminosity over some portion, possibly all, of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The worst pain a human being can endure is having your femur bone cracked in half.
found this:
Phenytoin can cause a deficiency of folate (folic acid, a vitamin) and vitamin D, occasionally leading to anemia and bone problems. Phenytoin also can produce a peripheral neuropathy, which may be felt as numbness and tingling or weakness in the feet and fingers. People who are on phenytoin for years may benefit from a daily multivitamin, since the B complex may counteract neuropathy, the D the bony changes, and the folic acid a tendency of phenytoin to reduce that vitamin.
A replacement anti-convulsant 'Keppra' has been suggested. Vitamin suppliments helped me for a while. Dilantin has controlled my seizures so well that it is hard to accept changing.

There is now a generic Keppra. With the health care plan (Blue Cross/Blue Shield Pennsylvania) I have it runs $13 for a months supply. However, I have requested my neurologist to have the brand name since generic Keppra 500 mg can run anywhere from 400-600mg per tablet. The cost for a month's supply runs me $46. I think this is well worth the cost. I was on Dilantin for over 30 years. Side effects were high pulse rate, high blood pressure, borderline hypothyroid (needed to take meds for the thyroid and BP) and tooth sensitivity. My neurologist tried a combination of medical cocktails and the result was I was in la la land for about two months Jan-Feb 2008. We finally found a mix that works great for me. 500 mg Keppra in the morning along with 32.5 mg Phenobarbital ($4 for a month) and 1000 mg Keppra and 4 Phenobarb tablets in the evening. Since March 2008 I have been seizure free. Thanks be to God. As I was weaned from the Dilantin I was scared to death to have a seizure. The last Dilantin pill I took, March 2008, I had a seizure in which I was aware of what was going on. Very unusual for me. Since I was already under doctor's care it did not have to be reported to the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and I didn't have to start the six month wait all over again. Check with your doctor but in Pennsylvania if you are under a doctor's care and he changes the medicine and you have a seizure they don't have to report it. I had a seizure in December 2007 which started the change over to another mix. My neurologist did advise me Keppra is not meant to be monotherapy drug and should be used with another anti-seizure med. All the problems I had with my health have disappeared. I was able to quit taking BP med and thyroid med. My tooth sensitivity has disappeared. All in all it was a great change for me. Make certain you have a long talk with your doctor or specialist about all the effects of Keppra. One side effect seems to be a lack of sex drive. However after about six months it seemed to return but not as strong. Of course this drug will react differently for others.
