How To Play And Understand Five Card Draw Poker?
It starts out with the dealer dealing 5 cards to each player. Before seeing their cards, everybody puts in theante. This is an amount of chips that is decided before the round and may be changed any time during play. Then everybody is allowed to pick up their cards. The betting starts with the player to the dealer's left. He may check, which means he didn't bet but he is still in the round, or bet, which means putting some of the chips in the pot, which is the chips that the winner of the round will take. If he checks, the person to his left goes. However, If someone before you bets, you have different options. You may call, fold, or raise. calling is matching the amount of chips the player bet, therefore staying in the round. If you don't think your hand is the best (see the list of hands at the end), you may fold, which takes you out of the round and it is now impossible to win, but frees you of having to put chips in the pot to call. Raising is to match the previous bet and bet on top of it. Say the person before you bets 10 and you call and raise 10 for a bet of 20. Anybody who hasn't put anything in yet must put in 20 chips to call and the original bettor or anyone who called must put in 10 more to match 20. Once the table is done, which is when everybody has had the same amount of turns (Exception: the last player to play bets (not calls) or raises. The betting goes around again), the players draw. This is exchanging the cards you don't want for new cards. Say you have K K 2 3 6.

What does it mean to make a straddle bet?
== == It refers to betting. The following information is taken from a site on poker terms. Straddle bets A straddle bet is an optional (voluntary) blind bet made by a player before receiving his cards. Straddles are only used in games played with blind structures. Straddles are normally not permitted in tournament formats. The player immediately to the left of the big blind may place a live straddle blind bet. The straddle must be a raise over the big blind. A straddle is a live bet; the player placing the straddle effectively becomes the "bigger blind". Action begins with the player to the left of the straddle. If action returns to the straddle without a raise, the straddle has the option to raise. The player to the left of a live straddle may re-straddle by placing a blind bet raising the original straddle. A Mississippi straddle buys last action before the flop. House rules permitting Mississippi straddles are common in the southern United States. Usually, a Mississippi straddle can be made from any position, although some house rules only permit the button or the player to the right of the button to place a Mississippi straddle. Like a live straddle, a Mississippi straddle must be at least the minimum raise. Action begins with the player to the left of the straddle. If, for example (in a game with $10-$25 blinds), the button puts a live $50 on it, the first player to act would be the small blind, followed by the big blind, and so on. If action gets back to the straddle with no raise, the straddle has the option of raising. The player to the right of a Mississippi straddle may re-straddle by placing a blind bet raising the original straddle. A sleeper is a blind raise placed from any position at the table other than under the gun.
The pair of queens beat the pair of tens, the nine and the ace are irrelevant. Queens are higher ranked than tens.

Semi-Bluffing?
Can Getting Caught Bluffing Be Profitable?
Here are a few useful tips to start with:
1. In general, you should not bluff beginner/novice players,

Here are the rules of a card game known as "Polish poker"--or so it is known among those who have taught it to me. This is not the drinking game of the same name. Nor is it really a poker game. So I'm not even sure "Polish poker" is the correct name for it. If anyone knows the correct name, please /msg me with a reference. Object To score the lowest number of points by finishing each hand with as many pairs and low-scoring cards as possible. Players Two or more players (ideally four or more). Deck Two standard playing card decks including jokers (108 cards total). Point values Kings are worth zero points. Queens and jacks are worth ten points. Jokers are worth minus three points. All other cards are worth face value (aces 1 point). A pair is worth zero points regardless of the cards' values. Jokers are the exceptions--a pair of jokers always scores minus six points. (A pair is formed by two cards of the same rank in the same row: kings, queens, etc. Suits are irrelevant. A pair may be formed only with both cards in the same row.) DealCards are dealt clockwise, six to a player, face down. The remainder of the deck is placed in the middle of the table and becomes the draw pile. Its top card is turned face up next to it to begin the discard pile. Players arrange their cards on the table in three rows of two cards each. The cards in the top row are turned face up. The other cards are blind; they remain face down and may not be examined. Example: .---. .---. |8 | |K | |S | |C | | | | | `---' `---' .---. .---. |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| `---' `---' .---. .---. |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| |XXX| `---' `---' Play The round begins with the player to the dealer's left; play proceeds clockwise around the table with each turn. Each player begins her turn by drawing the top card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. If she takes a card from the draw pile, she may discard it immediately (thus ending her turn) or continue. To play the draw card, the player must use it to replace a card in her hand. She is free to replace the top two cards so long as they are the only cards face up. However, once any of the bottom four cards has been replaced, the top two cards are considered frozen and may not be replaced again for the rest of the round. The bottom four cards may always be replaced. In any case, the replacement card is laid face up, and the replaced card must be discarded face up on the discard pile. A player "goes out" when she replaces her last remaining face-down card with a face-up card. After a player has gone out, the other players take one last turn, and the round ends. Scoring At the end of the round, all players turn over their remaining face-down cards. Points are tallied for each player as described in "Point values" above. If no player has reached 150 points, the game proceeds to a new round, with the player to the dealer's left becoming the new dealer. End of game The game ends when a player reaches 150 points. The player with the lowest score is declared the winner
Freezeout is the standard poker tournament format. It means that once you've lost all of your chips you are out of the tournament.
Some tournaments offer a re-buy or add-on which gives you an additional way to get chips. These tournaments are then not freezeout, though at some point they do revert to freezeout format.
