racism is afeting Mexicans in many ways like Mexican jokes and giving bad rap about Mexicans being blood sucking vampires on the health industry and the economy. like when they jump the boarder and take all the jobs and get paid under the table. i not totally racist i think we need some Mexicans to take the realy bad jobs that others would not do.

An unconfirmed report claims that an American mayor has promised to ban white police officers from eating bananas after an allegation that it is racist. There is nothing to substantiate the story but it is in line with the "politically correct" local and national governments of America, UK and other Western countries trend of bizarre behavior in the name of equality.

There is nothing racist about a white man eating a banana. There is nothing racist about any man eating any food for that matter. To ban such an activity is nothing more than PC insanity.

There are a few racists who have used bananas to attack black soccer players in the UK. Throwing bananas at the players, suggesting that they should eat "monkey food" is disgusting behavior and one that is punished by courts wherever possible. That behavior is pure racism and should never be condoned.

Similarly, it is conceivable that someone may use bananas as a prop for sexual harassment centered around stereotypes relating to race and genitalia. That behavior is not only racist, but sexist as well, and it should not be condoned either.

The fact that a handful of racist thugs use a banana as a prop does not make the banana guilty and it doesn't make a hungry white policeman guilty either. It is time to work towards eliminating all racism but let us avoid the insanity of banning normal activities by normal people. Racism is about attitude, not about bananas.

"Racism of lowered expectations" is a new form of racism that is developing in liberal circles as an overreaction to the pushes for equality between Whites and Non-Whites and Imperialists and the Victims of Imperialism. As an indirect outgrowth of the ideas of pluralism has come an acceptance of not only the distinctiveness of people's cultures, but of their legal and political perspectives. This has gone to the point where to avoid appearing culturally insensitive, a nation or its citizens will not openly hold Whites and Non-Whites to the same legal standards or hold them to same expectations in international politics.

For example, some individuals have criticized the way that Serbia and Israel were and are vilified for their human rights abuses relative to the much larger and more pervasive human rights abuses that go on in numerous African, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian countries. According to "racism of lowered expectations", the Whites (in Serbia and Israel) are held to a superior standard of behavior than the Non-Whites who "cannot be expected to behave as well". Of course, Non-Whites are just as capable of observing humans rights as Whites are, which is why this expectation is a form of racism.

There is racism everywhere in the world. It's in people, not locations. Anywhere there are people that judge others based on the color of their skin and not on the content of their character, you have racism. And California has many people of different races, so it is likely that it is prevalent there as in other places.

The difference is racism deals with someone being judgemental and discriminatory because of someone elses race/ethnicity. Classism deals with someone being discriminatory because of someone elses social/economic class. Though it should be noted, the two can sometimes overlap.

Forbeing racist, no, for being openly racist, yes. I knew a boy who was expelled from my high school for racist behavior towards a darker skinned girl (she is actually white, but looks Hispanic or some darker ethnicity). It depends on the school, or the district, but I'd say most schools have a zero-tolerance policy towards racism, especially if it's violent.
