What does E. Franklin Frazier mean when he says the City of Destruction?
Summarily, Frazier had a very specific purpose in mind in the part of The Negro Family entitled "In the City of Destruction." In the early part of the 1900s, urbanization was being hailed as the panacea for the problems of mass poverty that followed on the heals of the dust bowl, the Great Depression, and two world wars that severely altered the way that economies interact and the general dynamic of macro-economics. Somehow, the idea of "moving to the city" became a vision of promise. That a family could move to the city, get a job, and succeed.
Ultimately, the bottom line is that Frazier believed that cities were NOT a place of bounty and plenty for the african-american family. To him, a city was a place where values, family values, and the nuclear family, would be destroyed. Hence "City of Destruction" as a title.
A very good discussion of this subject can be read at the link below.
Is it racist to kill more black men than white men?
It is racist to kill someone because of their race.
If, for instance, you were minding your own business and an armed group of three Black men and a White man tried to rob you, and you somehow killed all four, then that would likely just be self-defense.
However, if you mean more in a police context, and more men of one race are killed, and there is a pattern of this happening, then that would be suspicious and very well could be due to racism.
What is a good title for a informational poster on the topic of desegregation?
If you want ideas for poster content or a cartoon, here is one. Draw two water fountains, one labeled Black (or "Colored" as was the term in the old days) and one labeled White. Maybe add a police officer to guard them, and draw a Martian or other space alien approaching the officer. Then the title or caption could be, "Where am I supposed to drink?"
Or you could play off of the separate not being equal theme and say, "Separate is Not Equal. Then you could then depict the Brown v. Topeka decision. You could draw two schools, or two classrooms. Draw them for different races, within one that is nice and one that is unsafe and falling apart. You could show technological differences, like a computer lab in one (they didn't have that then, but kids would relate) and students talking through tin cans on the other. Or show outside the place, with one having a vary well-kept grounds and building with a security guard and gates, and the other with the building collapsing, the weeds grown up, and maybe a pickup truck with a Confederate flag on it, with "rednecks" on the back of it, and maybe some with rifles.
Or, another outer space themed one could show maybe Purple People and Green People, maybe show them segregated or fighting and have the title, "This Doesn't Happen in Space." They could be saying things like, "We won't let our daughter marry a Green guy," and the maybe a Green person saying, "Them Purple people always hold us back!"
On not being that different, maybe you could divide a poster in to two halves. Show a group of people in each of a different hue, with both sides saying the same mildly racist things. The title can be, "We Are Not really All That Different."

Is racism in America reversed now due to changing demographics?
No. Racism is the institutionalized racial prejudices against a certain race of people. Since white people in America still have the vast majority of power to make laws and enforce them, racism still can only be against people of color, not against white people.
Is it possible for a racist person to fall for someone who belongs to the race they hate?
Yes, this is very possible, and for at least three reasons:
1. Some people have more gender-specific manifestations of racism. There are more people who hate males outside their own race than females outside their own race.
2. Some racists may be more compartmentalized thinkers or may make exceptions for things they want without seeing a contradiction. They may reframe the person as being outside the hated group. So it may be possible for some racists to not see color when they fall in love. Or they somehow give themselves the illusion that the person is in their race.
3. The other person, for whatever reason, seems to be exceptional in some way. They may really seem different from others in their own ethnic group to the point of seeming like an outcast there, or they may have incredible beauty, talent, or depth of character.
How can racism cause societal destruction?
Emphasizing on racism leads to identify oneself with a particular group of individuals. In a society there may be several ethnic groups and if we talk about groups of different races, it will lead to societal destruction.
What are some examples of racism in the movie Glory?
Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. The language in this movie was not only racist, but extremely offensive and atrocious. Sargent Mulcahy calls the blacks "ugly Mexican-African 'f wording' whores." There are three Racist comments in there! Sargent Mulcahy is probably the most racist person in there. He also calls the blacks "bastards" at least five times.
How are poverty and racism connected?
racism usually blocks minorities from opportunities. For example, i won't give you that job because i don't like the color of your skin, therefore you don't get the job or the promotion.
During slavery, blacks were not accumulating wealth like whites were. This wealth is passed down from generation to generation opening up opportunities for white children and not black children and many still have that accumulated wealth from past generations. Those parents were able to provide good education to their children, those children got better jobs, better pay and they were able to educated their children and so on.....wealth and opportunity is passed down from generation to generation.
Racism is to a society what cancer is to a person. It creates an unequal field for people and block important contributions they can make to our society. In example: a kid who is very very smart and is black could be an excellent engineer and build bridges in our society but because of racism, his dad was unable to get a promotion and therefore unable to pay for this kid's education. Other example: Same black kid was unable to get the good education or was unable to get into certain school because the admission committee didn't look at his skills but his skin color , therefore this kid was unable to pursue a good education and society lost a potential engineer.
Overall , racism hurt us all.
I hope that helps.
What is an example of economic racism?

How is CAUCASUS an ethnic group?
Caucasus is not an ethnic group. Caucasian is typically used as a more politically-correct term for White, which is a racial category. The idea is that most Whites have distant origins (over 3000 years ago) that trace back to the Caucasus Mountains.
The Caucasus actually has numerous varied ethnicities, which is why there are numerous language families in close proximity within the Caucasus mountains.
Why do afro Americans complain in restaurants?
They don't do so anymore than anyone else of any color. The reason why a person may complain can be many; it depends on the situation they are in, and not someone else of the same color or heritage.
well lets see.. to name a few. I was told that i didn't need to focus much on my studies because my jobs was to have children and look after my children like an "obedient wife".
I was also told boys are good at math and girls aren't. Girls are better at language so i should leave that to them.
A big one would be NO religious tolerance whatsoever. I was teased relentlessly for being catholic. I was even shunned for a few days and no one would talk to me.
The teachers are doing nothing to stop the boyfriend girlfriend issues. A few days ago i saw a nine year old guy and an eight year old girl talking, i thought "how cute they must be really good friends" until i heard the guy call the little girl his girlfriend. And too many times I've heard from girls "there is no reason for me to get good grades, my boyfriend will look after me". Its sad to see such potential being wasted.
Hope that gave enough examples

Affirmitive Action. Like the answer or not, any piece of legislation devised for the purpose of promoting unequal treatment of any person based on race, creed, or color is racism. This is not to take away from Equal Opportunity.

The right to speak Spanish in school depends on the policies of the specific school or educational institution. However, if the school has language policies that only allow for English to be spoken, then speaking Spanish may not be permitted during school hours.
Why is racism is not ok in Africa?
Racism is not OK anywhere in the world. To discriminate against people because of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation is just ridiculous. No one is better than anyone else. Prejudice solves nothing and it actually holds back progress of a society because the efforts, ideas, and creativity of the people who are discriminated against is lost or not recognized.
Why do African Americans live in worse conditions than white Americans?
because they look different than all of us and people judge that
Why do you all hire black people and then then treat them like there nuthin?
Actually, there are employers who do not value their employees--regardless of color or creed. Kindness and respect are often in short supply. However, to be certain that his treatment of you is not in response to your behavior: make sure you are dressed professionally (clean, no wrinkles), arrive on time for your regular schedule, are doing the job as directed, are polite, ask questions when you need to, and so on. Learn what you can from the job and look for another on the side.
