What you did is wrong and your mother is right. The church was an inappropriate place for you to do this, the hickey is a bad idea, and your behavior was not good. Your mother is trying to teach you and protect you from making mistakes. I once had a 8th grade student ask me if the hickey she had was wrong. I told her it showed me that she was getting too close to the boy who made it and it would lead to something more. Your mother is thinking the same thing.
