How do you round to the thousands by using a three digit number?
Any number 499 or less rounds to zero.
Any number 500 or greater rounds to 1000.
Ah, where are the good old days, when a score of 72 was always better than a score of 62,
and that was all you needed to know, and it didn't matter how well or poorly anybody else
in the class was doing ?
Sam Levinson used to tell about the time his son brought home a report card, and on the
report card the teacher had written "For him, he is doing good", and Sam used to say,
"Now all I need to know is: Who is 'him' ?"
How many four digit palindromical numbres?
The first digit can be any one of nine (all except zero). For each of those . . .
The second digit can be any one of ten.
Total possibilities for the first two digits = 9 x 10 = 90.
Since the 4-digit number is a palindrome, the 3rd and 4th digits are determined
by the 1st and 2nd ones.
So the total number of 4-digit palindromes is the same as the number of possibilities
for the first 2 digits = 90 .
What are the applications of biostastistics?
Biostatistics has a wide range of applications, primarily in public health, medicine, and biological research. It is essential for designing clinical trials, analyzing health data, and interpreting results to make informed decisions about treatments and interventions. Additionally, biostatistics plays a crucial role in epidemiology by helping identify risk factors for diseases and assessing the effectiveness of public health policies. Its methodologies are also applied in genomics, environmental studies, and healthcare quality improvement.
I think it means before assured of, or something along those lines.
How do you find the outlier number?
Find the inter quartile range, which is IQR = Q3 - Q1, where Q3 is the third quartile and Q1 is the first quartile. Then find these two numbers:
a) Q1 - 1.5*IQR
b) Q3 + 1.5*IQR
Any observation that is below a) or above b) can be considered an outlier.
Chadwick, quartiles are considered robust, meaning that they are not highly effected by outliers. This is because it takes location into account, not the values. Let's look at your data set (sorted).
2 3 6 9 13 18 21 106
position of Q1 = (8+1)/4 = 2.25
Q1 = 0.75(3)+0.25(6) = 3.75
position of Q2 = (8+1)/2 = 4.5
Q2 = (9+13)/2 = 11
position of Q3 = 3(8+1)/4 = 6.75
Q3 = 0.25(18)+0.75(21) = 20.25
Notice that none of these actually use the value 106. Let's continue.
So IQR = Q3-Q1 = 20.25-3.75 = 16.5
Q1-1.5*IQR = 3.75-1.5*16.5 = -21
Q3+1.5*IQR = 20.25+1.5*16.5 = 45
No numbers are below -21, but 106 is above 45, so it can be considered an outlier.
Would one expect more variance with a larger sample size in a chi distribution?
The larger your sample size, the less variance there will be.
For instance, your information is going to be much more substantial if you took 1000 samples over 10 samples.
What is the probability of drawing a black 7 followed by a red queen from a pack of playing cards?
There are two black 7's and two red queen's in a standard deck of playing cards. The probability of drawing a black 7 is 2 in 52, or 1 in 26, or about 0.038. The probability of drawing a red queen from the remaining 51 cards is 2 in 51, or about 0.039.
The probability, then, or drawing a black 7 followed by a red queen is (2 in 52) times (2 in 51), which is 4 in 2652, or 2 in 1326, or about 0.00151.
What is the variance for the uniform random variable?
the variance of the uniform distribution is (a+b)/12
How many pounds are in 2 14 tons?
1 ton = 2 000 pounds
214 tons x 2 000 pounds/1 ton = 428 000 pounds
Would you use mean mode median to average the points?
mean is the average of numbers in the data set
mode is the most frequently occurring value in a data set
and median is the middle number of the data set
so you would use mean
Why measure of central tendency and measure of dispersion are complementary to each other?

What is the difference between face value and local value of 7 and 3 in the number 527435?
The face value of the digits is their individual value, so the 7 is seven and the 3 is three
The local value of the digits takes into account their position in the number, so the 7 is seven thousand and the 3 is thirty.
What is the difference between dependent and independent values?
Actually the thing is that in which form u wnt to know about independent values or dependent . Independent means ur own privacy and dependent means we are dependent on other for everything . In our life we actually lives dependent life we live 67% of dependent and 33% of independent but it is actually general ,so again ask question others topic as well as on other to bye..................
What five numbers have the mode as 6 median as 7 and the mean as 9?
There are infinitely many possible answer.
They all take the form {6, 6, 7, x and 26-x} where 7 < x < 13.
For example, {6, 6, 7, 7.1 and 18.9}
or {6, 6, 7, 11, 15}

How do you separate dependent and independent variables?
I do it by using an "if/then" statement. The variable behind the "if" statement is the independent variable. The variable behind the "then" statement is the dependent variable.
Example: y = 3x3 + 4x2 - 6x +1
So if you tried "if y = 2", you're still stuck on your "then" statement. You don't really know what x is, do you?
But if you try "if x = 1", then you can determine right away that y = 2.
So x is your independent variable and y is your dependent variable.
How many ways to make 12 using 3 dice?
Assuming three standard dice with each die showing the numbers 1-6 on its faces, there are 25 ways to get a total of 12:
156, 165, 246, 255, 264, 336, 345, 354, 363, 426, 435, 444, 453, 462, 516, 525, 534, 543, 552, 561, 615, 624, 633, 642, 651
In each number the first digit is the value on the first die, the second digit the value of the second die and the third digit the value of the third die.
If you use three coloured dice (eg Red, White and Blue) each digit is the value of one of the coloured dice - eg with the numbers 156, 165, 516, 561, 615, 651 it may all seem to be the same roll, but in the first case it is R=1, W=5, B=6, the second R=1, W=6, B=5, etc: they are all distinguishable by the colour of the dice.
