What is a 'negotiable warehouse receipt?
A negotiable warehouse receipt is one that can be given, for value, to another.
You have ordered product from a manufacturer to be delivered to a warehouse destination. You receive a warehouse receipt saying the items are in the warehouse and you now own them. If you owe someone else money, you can give them the warehouse receipt and they will now own the goods, in payment, or partial payment, for what you owed them (the value).
Does Wal-Mart give Rain Checks for merchandise?
Yes they do. The fine print on their sale papers states very clearly that they do indeed give rain checks. Here is Walmart's Advertised Merchandise Policy straight from the back of their sale paper.
Walmart's Advertised Merchandise Policy - We intend to have every advertised item in stock. However, we may not offer some items in all locations, and quantity or availability may vary due to unexpected demand or other circumstances beyond our control. If an advertised item is out-of-stock at your Walmart, upon your request, we will issue you a Rain Check so that you can purchase the item at the advertised price when it becomes available. In addition, we may offer to sell you a similar item at the advertised price or a comparable price reduction. "While Supplies Last" items, "Bonus" items, items identified as being available in limited quantities, and items that are not carried at your Walmart do not qualify for Rain Checks or offers of substitute items. "WHILE SUPPLIES LAST" items are items that we carry at a special price for a limited time or that we do not intend to continue to carry on a regular basis. "BONUS" items are items that include a bonus amount of the same item or an additional bonus item at no extra cost. "ROLLBACK" means that the advertised price is even lower than the previously offered Every Day Low Price. In all cases, we reserve the right to limit quantities to normal retail purchases or one-per-customer or household, and to exclude dealers. Our advertising circular may vary by geographic region, and any particular regional circular will apply only to stores in that region. Offers and limitations void where prohibited by law. We apologize for, but will not be bound by, any errors in our advertisements.
Does Walmart hire people with misdemeanors?
It depends on what type of misdemeanor it is, how long ago it happened, and if you are honest about the charges on your consent form.
Generally speaking, most companies have an issue with any theft and/or drug related charges. In addition, if the charge is less than 7 years ago, that will count against you more heavily than a charge from 7+ years. And most employers will automatically disqualify you if you lie about it. You should always be honest and disclose anything on your criminal record. They are going to learn about it anyways via the background check and if you are not honest, then most employers will not hire you, even if it is a minor charge from years ago. So always be honest!
If you had deferred adjudication with your charge, then you aren't legally obligated to put that you were convicted on your application. You could try to get a non-disclosure agreement with the court, which means that employers and such won't see anything on your record if they do a background check. It will only be visible to government agencies.
You can also apply to get your records sealed or expunged. The thing about getting your record expunged or sealed, or even a non-disclosure agreement, is that you'll have to hire a lawyer. This could be expensive.

How much does a department manager at walmart make?
Not enough.
I personally make 9.70 an hour, and I run four different departments. There are some managers that make upwards 11.00 an hour, but they've been with the company for a while.
Walmart's department managers are paid based on how many departments and the experience they have, plus years with the company may add to that total, depending on yearly evals.. if you were a carpenter or plumber or what-not and you run the hardware department you are likely to be paid more than someone who started as a sales associate in sporting goods and then got promoted to a new department.. on that note, department manager is one of the most demanding positions and I agree they don't get paid much but they get significantly more hours to go along with the pay raise. ZMSs get paid more, but in my opinion do not have an as demanding job.
