on the brake pedal there is rubber or plastic pad that when the brake is pushed in the button pops out and the brake light go on. if the rubber/plastic pad brakes there is an empty hole and the brake lights will stay on all the time.

How many miles does the TL have on it? I'm guessing a LOT. Honda/Acura engines usually don't have this issue. I do recall an old Toyota I had with 250K miles that had fuel system (at that time carbuerator) issues that caused the hot engine to suck in extra fuel when turned off. It was then tough to start a flooded engine soon after turning it off (still hot). Weird problem but a new carb corrected it. Considering you have fuel injectors, I can't be sure but maybe there is an issue with them being clogged. Good luck.

It's not always the case if your car is overheating. This could be a sign the head gasket is bad but many other things could cause overheating as well. If your car got hot or runs hot it won't always require a new head gasket

I'm a state inspector trying to inspect a 1997 Acura 2.5 TL. The OBD II connector is not being read by my machine. Is there a fuse that needs to be replaced? In other vehicles it's usually the cigarrette lighter fuse, but the cigarrette lighter works. What can I do?
