Then the LORD God said: "See! The man has become like one of us, knowing what is good and what is bad! Therefore, he must not be allowed to put out his hand to take fruit from the tree of life also, and thus eat of it and live forever."

Who came first lucifer or Adam?

Luciferhad came first because he refused to bow down to adam and eve like the rest of the angels so he decidedto become evil.

Why was it Adam's failure that was so decisive for humanity rather than eve's eating of the forbiden fruit?

Because he was created first and the instructions were given to him. In Genesis 2:16,17 it reads: And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

That's why Romans 5:12 it says: "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned-."

We die because of the sin that Adam passed unto us.

Was Adam in the Garden of Eden 400 years before Eve?

There are many ways to try to reconcile inconsistencies in the story of Adam and Eve, but a difference in ages of 400 years probably does not achieve much. It certainly does not resolve the problem of Adam being earlier than all other living creatures, when we know that not to be the case.

Genesis itself eliminates the possiblity of Adam being so much older than Eve, while throwing up new problems. Verse 5:3 says that Adam was only 130 years old when Seth, his third son, was born. He lived another 800 years after the birth of Seth and died at the age of 930 years. If taken literally, Adam was certainly much less than 130 years older than Eve.

How do you know if dinosaurs were real if Adam and Eve and animals were the first on earth?

In the Bible story of Genesis, it says that God created the animals before creating men. Why are you sure that dionsaurs were not among the animals he created?

Who is Adam and Eve?

A:In the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), they were considered to be the first people on earth. In those religions Adam and Eve were believed to be created by God's own hands and were placed as the rulers over the earth and all the creatures in it.

Other religions have other first people with parallel roles.

A:In biology Y chromosome Adam is the most recent common male ancestor of all people alive today and mitochondrial Eve is the most recent common female ancestor. They are not thought to have lived at the same time and the phrase "most recent" does not exclude earlier common ancestors who may have lived at the same time. A:Adam and Eve were the first man and woman according to Genesis in the Bible. Adam was made before Eve, but because God wanted to "make a helper suitable for him," he created Eve from the rib of Adam. Now Adam and Eve were sinless and perfect at that time, and they were naked but not ashamed. After God created them, he put them in a garden and told them that they could do whatever they wanted and eat from any tree in the garden except one, which was the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil", which both Adam and Eve ate from after being tempted by a serpent. Then God sent them out of the garden because of what they did. A:Adam is the first man, and Eve is the first woman. They're the first of many characters whose stories are told in the Old Testament Book of Genesis. The couple that they form is of historical and spiritual importance. They're the ancestors of the Hebrew people whose beliefs, culture and traditions are the source for three major world religions. A:In the second creation story of the Book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were the first people created, and were the leading characters in a story about moral failings. Some people still believe that Adam and Eve were the first people created. A:They were two human beings formed by the Creator, but were not necessarily the very first people on the planet, as many believers and disbelievers continue to share or "debunk". A:Adam and Eve were the first humans created by God, in His own image, according to the Bible. (Genesis 2:7, 21, 22)

Why is the story of Adam and Eve called the Fall?

While the whole story of Adam and Eve is not referred to as the Fall, the section where they disobeyed God is so called because this was when sin entered into the perfect world. Sin and all its effects are degenerative in nature. Formerly, the world was a perfect place and Adam and Eve were in a perfect relationship with God. When sin entered the world, this relationship was then broken. They had fallen from perfection and grace.

What are the names of Christians that believe the Genesis story is literally true?

There are millions of us. If you count past people, it is probably in the billions!

I doubt if you want a list of all the people in all the churches that believe in the facts of the Genesis record.

You might want to check out the link below for some scientists that believe creation, but they are only a small sliver of the believers alive today.

Christians who believe the Genesis story is literally true are called "Young-Earth Creationists."

Was Eve made from Adams rib?

Genesis 2:21-23 says: "So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place...The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.'' (NASB)

Adam spoke of this when speaking of Eve, his closest possible relative : ''This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.''(Genesis 2:23 KJV)

Just as a side note: Nothing indicates that the reproductive cells of Adam were affected, or that his offspring would have one less rib, but it is interesting to note, medically speaking, that a rib that has been removed is capable of growing again, replacing itself, as long as the periosteum (the membrane of connective tissue that covers the bone) is allowed to remain. The scriptures don't say one way or the other, but it's something to think about.

What is meant by the word esakal?

Esakal, more commonly written as sakal, is a term that can briefly be described as moral wisdom. The term is first used in the Book of Genesis when Eve eats the fruit of The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

What color was Adam and Eve Where did all the difference races of people come from?

At one point in the Bible, God cursed the people, this made them speak different languages which probably changed their skin color as well.

See that answer is just ridiculous. When they began the building of the tower of Babel it wasn't much longer after the Great Flood. They were pretty much centralized around modern day Jordan to modern day Turkey. God cursed them, changing their languages. The bible then says they gathered with each other that they could understand. So that is when they language groups were established. Then they began to spread across the land and warred with each other making countries and provinces. Over time their appearances changed according to where they lived. For example if you took a white person and moved them to central Africa where the sun is extremely intense, after a few generations the skin tone will start to darken.

Not being racist, likewise African Americans are getting much lighter than they were back in the late 1700's when they first got here. It is all about the sun exposure that changes appearance. You never see a native Russian that is brown, or you never see pale white person in Africa.

On to the physical features. A person's language can change someones shape of their jaw and other features to which I'm not sure. Take Scottish or Irish people for example. Very little tongue, and don't open their mouths very much to talk. This lack of use of the upper lip causes their mouths to be relaxed. If you notice, it almost has a curve out away from their mouths. This and other languages such as Asians depend heavily upon the pitch of the word. About 90% of Asians are perfect pitch (ability to identify a note specifically) as opposed to Americans 3%.

Languages such English and German are very guttural and require much more tongue and much more of the upper lip. This causes our lips to be more tense and we are able to say the word "r" as opposed to Asians who have never used that motion with just the two sides of the tongue to say it.

As for the eyes and the brows which do differ greatly. This is just speculation because I'm not certain on this adaptation, but I assume that the reason most black people have brown and darker eyes is because of again the sun exposure. The darker it is the brighter the light it can take. Europeans have mostly light brown, and blue eyes. Go to the extremely cold areas such as Russia and they have blue and green. Asians tend to have brown and green. There is a very big correlation between location and color of eye.

If Adam and Eve had so many children aren't they Mormon?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that Adam and Eve, as well as all the ancient prophets and faithful people throughout the ages, were members of the same church that they are a part of - the true Church of Jesus Christ. In fact, one reason Mormons often have many children is because God commanded Adam and Even to 'multiply and replenish the earth' by having children.

From a general Christian perspective, though, Adam and Eve had many children because God commanded it, because they lived for nearly a thousand years, and because there was no birth control and little disease. Just because someone has many children doesn't mean they are Mormon, as large families are a common belief of many Bible followers.

Why god give prohibition to Adam and Eve?

For the same reason that parents place prohibitions on their children. We don't do it to test them. We do it because it's best for them; or it's best considering the situation.

For example: Let's say the mother bakes cupcakes and decorates them; and places them in a container. She tells the children not to take any, not even to touch the container. Why does she place this prohibition on her children? Because later on in the day, company is coming over; and they will have a party then. But is she always obligated to give the 'why' reason for the prohibition to the young ones? Does she need to tell them about the party later? What if she wants to surprise everyone?

Mom also does not feel the need to seal the cupcakes in a vault until then, so she just leaves them visible on the counter. Is that so bad? Is she meaning to tempt her children by letting them be visible. No, she trusts her children will be obedient.

Likewise with the tree in the Garden of Eden. That tree, -- God reserved for himself 'as representative' of something highly important for mankind to realize. Humans could not see God. They were at a disadvantage. They would not receive certain impressions about God that angels would have about God. So this tree would represent God's right to decide what is good and proper; and what is bad and improper. All future generations would also recognize the importance of our 'dependence' on Jehovah; and our need for obedience and trust that Jehovah is the one who KNOWS what is best for them, given the situation that they are mere humans; and have very limited 'understanding' capabilities.

An example of human's desire for something tangible is the use of images / idols in worship. For them, the idol represents something HIGHER. The only exception to this example is that God has spoken against the use of images for worship - - but the point is that humans do have a need for things that are representative. (The flag is another example. It is 'representative' of something higher than just 'cloth'. There are also prohibitions on how the flag is not to be used.)

Everything God has created has some sort of 'prohibition' or LAWS. It's just the way it is.

Even when you drive on the road, there are 'prohibitions'. Why? Because all things considered, it's just the best for us, whether we understand it or are incapable of understanding it at the moment.

To whom Adam and Eve children were married according the Quran?

According to Koran, Adam and Eve always had children in tween pairs. That is they were born as tween brothers and sisters. To be more clear, it was always a tween, and each pair was always a son and a daughter, and never two sons or two daughters.

Now, for marriage among children, which by today's tradition were all brothers and sisters, is obviously 'questionable'. Koran, however suggests that God also had rules for it.

The rule was simple, a boy can't marry his tween sister, with whom he shared his mother's womb. So technically, the decency factor was present.

It is also believed, the first murder in human history was also done for the same issue, when Cain, Adam's son wanted to marry his tween, while it was unlawful, and that Abel, Adam's another son was chosen - Cain got jealous and killed Abel.

How long did Adam live in the garden?

One thought:

The Bible says that Adam was 930 years old(Genesis 5:5) when he died, but does not specify how long he'd been out of the garden by then. We DO know that he had no children WITHIN the garden, but only AFTER they were expelled. OUTSIDE the garden, we know that Cain and Abel were the first sons born(Genesis 3:23-4:1), and that Eve did not have their THIRD son, Seth, until Adam was 130 years old(Genesis 5:3-5), so we can guess that he wasn't in the Garden all that long...maybe even under 100 years...
