First of all, 50 mg of Vyvanse is basically equivalent to 20mg of Adderall XR, so you're not really taking as much as it looks like. They are safe to take together because Vyvanse is all a d-amphetamine, and Adderall is a mixture of that plus other types of amphetamines. However, 40 mg of Adderall is the maximum recommended daily dose for ADHD, but up to 60 mg is okay for narcolepsy, but I don't think what you've got is too much unless you're sensitive to amphetamines.

I'm guessing that if it's for ADHD your doctor prescribed that mix because Vyvanse is made to last up to 14 hours and there is no quick release version available. You might need a little boost in the afternoon if that's when you do a lot of work, but you can't take more Vyvanse or you'll never sleep, so quick release Adderall would definitely do the trick.

Yes it's safe, and I'm trying to basically get that same prescription. I already take 50 mg of Vyvanse daily, and it starts to lose its effect by the time I'm doing most of my work so I need an extra kick that won't keep me up all night. Tell me if it works for you :)

If I remember correctly, vyvanse is meant to last over a long period, so yea, 80 grams per day expanded over the entire day(16-18 hours that you are awake) is safe. If you are taking it for obesity/epilepsy/narcolepsy/etc, that is fine. I have found however, for adhd, it seems to work better for me at lower doses then at higher doses. If this the initial prescription that the doctor gave you, or a revised prescription? If it is the initial prescription, I would ask the doctor for a lower booster, but keep the vyvanse the same. If it it because lower doses do not seem to affect you, however, then it is fine. But, keep in mind that your diet dramatically effects how much adderall you absorb, as well as long it stays in your system. This won't affect vyvanse as much because it is a prodrug, but make sure you notify your doctor of any changes in your diet, and any euphoria you might experience. It is common to experience euphoria right after a change in dosage, but if it seems to last more then a week then your dosage is too high and you are at risk of becoming dependent... which is not a good thing.

Coming from experience (failed an non failed UAs), you wanna drink 2 large glasses starting 2 hours before your UA, then drink 12oz Gatorade and 16oz water everytime you urinate after that. About 30-60min before your UA you should be having to urinate every 5ish minutes, this is good, urinate as much as possible, than at UA give them middle of your urine (it should be pretty clear). It dilutes the water so theres less metabolites in the overall volume of sample, thus decreasing change of getting detected. But theres def luck involved, stop using adderal preferably 4 days before UA to be safe.

It depends on the milligram of the Pill, and if it's an extended release capsule or if it's a tablet. The extended release (xr) capsules have beads inside the capsule. There are two different types of these beads, one of them gets absorbed immediately and the other is made to take longer to absorb and doesn't effect you until the other immediate release beads wear off. that way you can feel the effects all day. and the tablets are all immediate release so all the pill gets absorbed into your body at once and you get stronger but shorter effects. So now that I've explained it to you, the adderall xr would last about 12 hours as long as your doctor has given you an appropriate dose that works for you. And the adderall tablets would last probably at the most 7 hours also as long as you got the appropriate dose.

Adderall is a mixture of racemic amfetamine and dexamfetamine salts (4 specifically) that is considered water soluble (as opposed to lipid soluble), therefore it is not slowly eliminated from the body like certain benzodiazepines and THC. Generally it will not be detected after 48-72 hours depending on metabolism, kidney function, weight, etc. Sometimes it will not be detected after 24 hours (depending on the cutoff levels of the test) and sometimes only a few hours (this is not typical though).

I take drug tests for a treatment program I'm participating in, and I take Dexedrine as prescribed, but several hours after taking it that same day, I went to my monthly buprenorphine doctor. We followed the same protocols (drug test, vitals, etc.) and when I certified my urine sample had not been tampered with, rigged, etc. I noticed it only detected the buprenorphine and benzodiazepines.

My opinion: If you are caught with it Adderall in your possession, and it is a first time offense in addition to having no prior criminal history, odds are that not much will happen to you, especially if you only have one pill in your possession - it all depends. This depends on many factors such as your size and tolerance. Also some adderall are xr that are time release, these take effect for a lot longer. I can tell you that I am prescribed to adderall but only take 15mgs. About 5 times a month and am a 200 pound man and they usually do not start to wear off until 6 to 8 hours. As you can see there are many contributions to this but I think it would be safe to say that 6-8 hours is the typical affective time of these adderall. Hope this helps

I have been taking Adderall for a year, 20 mg twice a day. I'm also taking Wellbutrin 150 mg 3 times a day, and Levoxyl 100 mcg once a day. I'm now a graduate student, and have been a certified pharmacy technician since 1995. I drink occasionally and have not noticed any problem. I'm a 47-year old overweight female and my blood pressure has been OK (these meds and alcohol could increase BP. What I do is read all the package inserts for all medications I'm taking, and then call or speak to a pharmacist. They're the experts in drug interactions, and usually they'll end their comments with "ask your doctor". I don't always follow all advice, but at least I'm informed.

Taking Adderall will definitely decrease your tolerance for alcohol. Specifically why, I'm not entirely sure, but I would expect it to have something to do with it being a stimulant and therefore allowing your body to move the alcohol into your bloodstream. This, of course, will lead to becoming intoxicated much sooner than under "normal" (unmedicated) circumstances. For instance, unmedicated, I can consume ~6 beers before feeling the effects; when on Adderall, I feel these effects after 2 or 3. If this is a attributable to Adderall being a stimulant, I would suspect non-stimulant alternatives, such as Straterra, to not exhibit this effect.

I am not sure since I have been doing some research, and turned up little data. However, anecdotally my interest comes from being unable to recall much of my childhood from before I went off ADHD meds at the age of 9-ish (about 3 years). I am only 25 & have heard of others having similar experiences--but there is not much study on the issue. Hopefully we can find out more.

Basically, be cautious with psyche meds. They can in many cases be quite harmful, but make a really positive impact on some people's lives. Just track how you or your child/friend/etc are doing & don't let yourself get carried away by a drug-happy psychiatrist . Good luck

Answer: This is a very good question and I'm glad you asked it. Not many people think that you can get addicted to Adderall just because a doctor prescribes it to you. This is because more than 3/4 of Americans believe if a doctor prescribes it to you , it can in no way be harmful[[which is totally untrue]] It is very difficult going through withdrawal from Adderall or any other stimulant for that matter (but especially Adderall since it is one of the more potent stimulants out there today)and here are the reasons why. Adderall is a very addictive drug physically and mentally.It is rough on your body and mind after high doses or long periods of time(or even both). There are tons of withdrawal symptoms, some of the more serious include : extreme fatigue and exhaustion (you wake up feeling exhausted instead of refreshed), severe depression(may lead to suicial thoughts or behaviors),psychosis(seeing and/or hearing things that are not real, or losing touch with reality, having hallucinations), paranoia(becoming highly suspicious or accusing people of things), rapid/irregular heart rhythms,extreme feelings of emptiness or discontent( nothing occupies you, strange feelings of boredom towards usually fun activities), headaches and nausea, insomnia (hard to fall asleep);anxiety and or panic attacks (feeling overwhelmed, worrying, and feeling anxious, chest hurts, and its hard to breath, sweating), irritability and intense anger, and many more. These were literally all I could think of that I experience on a daily basis from withdrawal. hope this helps.****

The normal dosage of Adderall (amphetamine) varies from person to person. Factors such as age, tolerance, and weight all affect the required dose. To be safe, most doctors work from the lowest dose and increase it until side effects are seen.

Yes you can take adderall. adderall is not a sulfa (short for sulfonamide) drug. Adderall contains a sulfate (salt) . This is very different from sulfa drugs which actually contain sulfur. the chemical structures of these drugs are very different. Sulfonamides have the structure (R-SO2-NH2) whereas adderall's structure is (C9H13N) so there is no cross-reactivity seen between these 2 classes of drugs. Look on the wikipedia site under sulfa drugs to see a list of all the (sulfa) drugs that would cause an allergic reaction. It shows a list of antibiotic and non-antibiotic sulfonamides.

When I feel it wearing off I tend to get a headache, I become tired, and a bit irritable. But I'm sure different people have different reactions exspecially if people take them for non-prescribed reasons.

However like caffeine, amphetamine is a stimulant and all stimulants increase the amount of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain, so in that sense they are similar. Adderall however is a much more powerful stimulant and also increases the amount of the neurotransmitter norephinehrine as well as dopamine.

Adderal is much more powerful since it is an amphetamine called dextroamphetamine, but it has the psychological attitude of "on top of the world to extremely depressed" which has to do with the dopamine not being released naturally anymore. But it can go back to normal if enough time passes.
