How many people are on a soccer team?

A normal squad has eleven field players including the goalkeeper. During a game, the team may nominate up to seven substitutes (though only three may be used during the game), bringing the total to eighteen. The team may have more than this, including reserve players, practice squads, trainers, coaches, doctors, public relations officers, and so on, each of which are part of the team even if they aren't actual players.

There is no limit imposed by any rule of soccer, except that in regular adult FIFA-sanctioned or affiliated matches, a team must field at least seven players in order to play, no more than eighteen players are eligible to compete in any given match, and no more than fourteen different players may actually take the field during the match.

Additionally, small-sided youth soccer, indoor soccer, and numerous other variations of the game produce their own total numbers of team members. For example, U6 small-sided soccer is often played 3-on-3 with no goalkeepers on a field roughly the size of an average living room, and usually have one coach and no more than three nominated substitutes (because youth organizations often insist that each player get at least 50% playing time).

What does a sweaper do in soccer?

I thought the Wikipedia entry would cover this answer more thoroughly than I could:

The sweeper is a more versatile type of centre back who "sweeps up" the ball if an opponent manages to breach the defensive line. His or her position is rather more fluid than other defenders who man-mark their designated opponents. Because of this, the position is sometimes referred to as libero (from the Italian word meaning "free", as used by the sports journalist Gianni Brera). Though the sweeper may be expected to build counter-attacking moves, and as such requires better ball control and passing ability than a typical centre back, his or her talents are often confined to the defensive realm. For example, the catenaccio system of play, used in Italian football in the 1960s, employed a purely defensive sweeper who only 'roamed' around the back line.

Some sweepers move forward and distribute the ball up-field, while others intercept passes and get the ball off the opposition without needing to hurl themselves into tackles. In modern football, its usage has been fairly restricted, with few clubs in the biggest leagues using the position.

What is a 6 yard kick in soccer?

The "six yard" (or goal) area serves two purposes. For a goal kick, the ball has to be placed anywhere within the goal area. Secondly, if there is a dropped ball or indirect kick against the defending team inside the goal area, the ball is placed on the line nearest where the infraction occurred.

Both boys and girls should play on the same sport team why or why not?

Answer

No. Because there is a different skill level between boys and girls and if girls wanted to play on the same team or league they shouldn't complain if boys go hard on them. If they didn't do that everything would be fine.

Answer

When they're younger, yes. But as boys reach puberty, they gain muscle and weight that most girls never develop. If a girl can hold her own against the boys at any age however, she should be allowed to play.

What are some advantages of the soccer ball?

Some of the disadvantages of soccer is that you must have good endurance, an average wing runs 7 miles per game, if your endurance isn't that great you can play a position such as forward or center back who don't run as much, another disadvantage of soccer is how physical the game can be, if you are a smaller person you can get the ball taken away from you a lot easier, but if you are small you can bulk up so it is harder to get knocked down. The great thing about soccer is that anyone can play it, there is always a position or a way to fix your disadvantages in the game, coaches mainly like larger players but if the smaller player works hard they can be just as or more useful to a larger player

How many kilometers does the average soccer player run per game?

I know in Australian Rules Football's national competition, selected players are wearing GPS units / plotters sewn into the back of their tops so that the coaches can download and review for tactical reasons. The mid-fielders (who do the most running of all of the playing positions) are doing around 20 - 23 kilometers per game (100 minutes playing time, i.e. four 25min quarters). Not much jogging, I'm told; predominantly bet. 50 - 100% max effort or walking (recovery).

How do you do Football tricks?

Freestyle Football is the #1 way to practice...though pretty pointless starting unless you have God given talent to be able to pull off many of the skills

How does one do football tricks? Practice. And start with an easier trick. Football tricks, in general, are exercises by individuals designed to help them practice/learn better ball control and to improve their arsenal of skills, which they can then apply to outplay opponents. It doesn't hurt that they look pretty cool, too! Yeah! There are a lot of places to see these tricks. football matches, and in particular tournaments where many matches are played and a wide variety of players can be observed, are good places to see tricks. You can look them up online in a lot of places, too. If you watch others and try to copy them, you can generally figure out how they do what they do, and then it's just a matter of practice 'til you get the move down, whatever the move may be. And there's nothing like a more skilled and helpful teammate to help you get the hang of a neat trick or two. Good luck.

AnswerDepends on what kind of trick your talking here. When you see a football player do some fancy tricks, just remember you can do it too! The only way they get so good..is literally, repition. They repeat the drills over and over to perfect that trick. Take it from me, I am a football player. One thing to ALWAYS remember.. Practice doesnt make perfect! Practice makes PERMANENT!

Errr this ain't trie at all...yes practice can help you improve....but only marginally. The skills you see on TV you reaslistically can only dream off...hence its harder to make it in football that any smaller sport. The numbers of those who play football....to those that actually make it as a professional..the disparity is huge. In a top academy at an EPL club...its said that for every 40 who are good enough to actually gain a place at a prestigous academy, 1 player is likely to make it.
