Is there a bus from Manchester to Alton towers?
One option would be to take a National Express Coach service from Manchester Coach Station to Stoke-on-Trent (Hanley Bus Station). As Alton Towers opens at 10am, you could take the 8am serive arriving at Hanley at 9:15. From there, there are regular First Bus service to Alton Towers, all taking under 1 hour.
An alternative would be to take the train from Manchester to Stoke-on-Trent railway station which would be quicker, however you would then have to get a bus from the railway station to Hanley Bus Station and then the bus to Alton Towers.
