Is taking pills that make you lose your appetite for the purpose of losing wight considered anorexia?

I would say NO. Anorexia is a psychological condition affection the way you perceive yourself, and weight loss pills prescribed under a doctor's care can be a healthy way to lose weight. They usually wouldn't have anything to do with one another, if the doctor is careful about who he provides the pills to.

Is madeline zima anorexic?

As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, there were no verified reports or public statements from Madeline Zima regarding any eating disorders, including anorexia. It's important to approach such topics with sensitivity and avoid speculation about someone's health without credible information. For the latest updates on her or any individual's health, it's best to refer to reliable sources.

How much weight do you lose after death?

It was Dr. Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill, Massachusetts who attempted to weigh the human soul. In 1907, he placed 6 dying patients on a homemade scale, which also acted as a bed for the patients. He then recorded their weights before and after death. According to Dr. MacDougall, there was a difference of 21 grams between the heavier, living patients and their dead bodies.

He also experimented on 15 dogs and found no loss of weight between the living dogs and their dead bodies. He believed this was because animals do not have souls.

His experiments were criticized since of the six patients, two tests had to be discarded and the level of error was very high. Obviously, it was not a very scientific study.

In addition, no one has ever been able to repeat the result of these experiments. Basically, there is still no physiological evidence of the soul. It's an urban legend propagated by a guy who did bad science - looking for an answer he already believed was true. Real science doesn't have attachments to pre-existing beliefs and values. It just observes and hypothesizes.

If a person throws up fattening foods and not healthy foods or if they don't actually go on a huge binge does this mean that they are not bulimic?

A healthy person does not throw up their food. Please talk to a family member or friend and get them to help you or get some help for you... this is a serious problem. Your stomach is a muscle and if you continue to purge no matter if it's just fat foods your stomach will get use to it and will convulse! There are good fats out there, so read labels and don't be afraid to "pig out" once on a weekend and then get back into eating properly again rather than purging.

How can you pro ana successfully?

Why would the breath of someone suffering from anorexia nervosa smell sweet?

if I'm not mistaken, that's what happens when someone develops hypoglycemia...it's actually one of the signs of hypoglycemia...i think that's correct at least. I don't know why the body chooses to react that way.

(I remember a first aid flip-book i studied once. If I'm not mistaken, if you know someone is diabetic-i guess even if they aren't, but definitely if they are- and they are passed out, if you smell their breath, and it smells sweet, then they are suffering from low suger levels, and you need to treat them as such) sooo it would go without saying that probably the majority of people suffering from anorexia nervosa would have sweet smelling breath.

Compare and contrast anorexia vs bulimia?

Both anorexia and bulimia are dangerous eating disorders that can be potentially fatal. Each had many risks, side effects, and consequences. Both EDs are found primarily in girls between the ages of 12 and 28 in middle- to upper-class families. Both are eating disorders related to the desparate desire to lose weight.

Bulimia is far more common than anorexia is. Bulimics will binge and the purge to lose weight, while anorexics will mainly tightly restrict their calorie intake and then exercsie excessively to burn off even more calories. Anorexia has a higher fatality rate from the actual disorder, while bulimia has a higher suicide rate (as it is far less effective) and a higher fatality due to complications and medical side effects.

The levels of brain are low in many people with depression and in eating disorders?

The actual brain level is not "lower" in a person with depression or those who suffer from eating disorders. Actually, it is hard to classify them together. In depression, moods are surpressed as are certain chemicals in the body (like seratonin). In eating disorders, the mind is actually often highly active, but is prone to depression and blacking out due to lack of blood, oxygen, and nutrients.
