Nothing really. You can upset your stomach and/or cause ulcers with too much, however when I hurt my back the doctor gave me a prescription for 800mg of ibuprofen and I had to take it three times per day (that is 4 normal ibuprofen tabs) I just wouldn't take it for long periods of time. If you have that intense pain for that long, tell your doctor, and they will prescribe something else that will help much better.

What will take place of Ibuprofen in canine?
Both carprofen (Rimadyl) and ibuprofen (Advil, MotrinIB, Nuprin) are COX-2 inhibitors, although carprofen is felt to be more selective in the canine. Both cause a decrease in glomerular filtration rate, although not in renal flow rate. However, ibuprofen in particular can cause potentially fatal stomach ulcers in dogs, is not predictably or well metabolized, and poses extreme risks in the face of volume depletion, such as after vomiting or with dehydration. It is also much more likely to be fatal to smaller and older dogs. Ask your veterinarian for his/her advice if your dog is showing signs of pain or is limping. Treatment other than carprofen may be indicated.
Can you take Naproxen for headache pain?
Vicodin contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen (the ingredient in Tylenol). Taking Vicodin for menstrual cramps is question concerning your own individual body. Some women report that it helps immensely, while others report that it knocks them out or has no effect at all.
Some people are also allergic to hydrocodone, experiencing mild symptoms from nausea to itching. If it was prescribed by your doctor, he/she most likely checked it against your allergies before prescribing it. Like any medication, you should pay attention to your body after you take it, and discontinue use if any unpleasant side effects occur. You probably shouldn't drive or anything similar until you know how your body reacts to it.
You should not combine vicodin use with over-the-counter painkillers, and you should never combine it with alcohol. You might also consider cutting the prescribed dose in half the first time you take it. You should consider calling your doctor or gyno and asking to be prescribed something like ponstel, which is directly intended to reduce menstrual cramps, as opposed to vicodin, which is not. Many women also recommend more holistic methods of reducing cramps, such as cinnamon tea, ginger, parsley, and light stretching. Doctors also recommend reducing your caffeine and sodium intake starting a day or two before your period and continuing throughout your period, as these two items contribute to bloating and fatigue.

Is it safe to take 1800 mg of ibuprofen a day for weeks?
The over-the-counter maximum daily dose of ibuprofen is 1200 mg/day. Long term use of even the maximum amount is associated with certain health risks (such as GI bleeding and kidney damage). There are some disease states which require high doses of anti-inflammatory medications for treatment. If you are currently taking ibuprofen as directed by your doctor, you will probably be fine. If this is so, it is important that you see your doctor regularly so that he/she can monitor the effects of the drug on your body (i.e. blood tests to assess kidney function, etc). Your doctor may choose to prescribe a prophylactic dose of a proton pump inhibitor (Nexium, Prilosec, Protonix, Aciphex) or H2 antagonist (Zantac, Pepcid, Tagamet) to prevent an NSAID induced ulcer. If you have heartburn-like symptoms or notice that you bleed/bruise easily, feel exteremely fatigued, or have bloody or "black as coal" stools, see your doctor immediately.
If, however, you are taking 1600 mg/day longterm and are not under a doctor's care, your risk of eventually having these side effects is high. It is important that you let your doctor know that you are needing to take this much. Whatever problem is causing you to need to take this amount of ibuprofen on a regular basis should be addressed by a doctor.

What kind of aspirin should you give your dog?
You must ask your vet. It's not wise to medicate your pet without consulting an expert. Some people will say that aspirin is fine for your dog, and while it may not knock him over dead (I hope) it may not be the best thing for him. IF THE ANIMAL IS IN PAIN HE MUST BE TAKEN TO THE VET. It is your responsibility as a pet owner to insure that your pet is comfortable and provided for. Do not wait until it is more convenient for you or whatever other excuses people come up with. Do NOT wait for it to become an emergency situation. This will only end up costing you more money and inconvenience.
If the vet gives you the okay, then go ahead and do as he says. 325mg once a day is normal dosage for a healthy, medium-to-large dog. However, once the dog has gotten some relief I recommend asking more questions and doing your own research, then asking your vet what he thinks about other solutions you've come up with. For example, my vet placed my dog on a medication regimen consisting of Rimadyl in the morning and aspirin before bed. I complied with this, then researched the drugs and other options available. As it turns out, the rimadyl is bad for the dog's liver (he's supposed to be on it indefinitely for hip dysplasia, a degenerative condition) and aspirin is questionable also. I know my vet's a good guy, he just did the best thing to get rid of the pain as soon as possible and that's important. So I talked to my him about my concerns and he gave me a drug-free dietary supplement that has done more for my dog's joint pain than both medications combined. He only takes the medication on his rare bad days now, as opposed to every day.
The moral of the story is: Ask Questions, Do your own Research, and above all DON'T give your pet anything that could make him worse off. Follow your vet's instructions, take good care of the dog, and be involved in the solution.
1/4th of a baby aspirin every 72 hours is ok. But, ask your veterinarian before you do this. You can call any veterinarian clinic to get an answer and someone should be able to answer your question over the phone about this subject.
