well this is my opinion i think flies are more annoying because they are right at your level in the air flying around and what i mean by at your level is like right around your head flying and ants are usually on the ground when you are standing up.

We live on Earth with many creatures; they have to live somewhere, so they are at times going to be around humans. They go where they find food and a place to live. Finding a lot of ants just means you found a place that had conditions that were favorable to their needs. That's all.

Indeed. Listerine has a disinfectant which is better for Fire ant stings. I take a cotton ball and cut it in half and soak with listerine. Squeeze out the excess liquid in the cotton ball, apply to each bite site and secure with a bandaid. In less than 30 minutes, most of the sting has been neutralised.

Yes they can but it is more by luck rather than anything else. Often the problems are not of the colonies concern so individual are left to deal with the problem. These problems are often when an individual gets buried under a little bit of earth. Bigger problems however are overcome by most the colony such as their nest getting attacked or food shortages.

All ants are in the family Formicidae, which simply is Latin for "ants". Some ants are in a part of the Formicidae family called the subfamily Formicinae. None of the Formicinae have proper stings, but thay all bite if you bother them. Many of them produce lots of formic acid, and often will squirt it into the places that they bite.
