The first thing the beginning archer should do is find someone who will teach them proper archery safety, technique and practices. The best place to find that person is at a local archery club, such as those which are certified by the U.S. Olympic Archery Committee (USA Archery) in the U.S.A or the British Grand National Archery Society in Great Britain.

For those who are not interested in Olympic style archery, there are many other clubs, organizations and societies which concentrate on the other styles of archery, such as the English Field Archery Association (Great Britain) and the National Field Archery Association (U.S.A.), as well as the Society for Creative Anachronisms, Inc. (an International Society dedicated to Education, Research and Re-Creation of the Mediaeval Period of History).

Most organizations and societies do require payment of dues and/or fees, so be prepared.

I would like actual prices posted here so that I can get an idea as well. I'm going through a park district (as a non-resident -- so I pay a bit more) and it's $72 for four class ($18 per class). This seems a bit high to me. They supply the bows, arrows, and targets... so it may be fair. I'm going to try a month and see.

What are people paying for lessons? Please provide a per class cost if possible.

In reality they are quite cheap to purchase, but you can have your own leather bracer made if you wish to.

A decent arm brace is about half the length to the full length of your forearm, and is a wide as two thirds of the circumference of your forearm (you don't need exact measurements).

Traditional archery bracers are nearly always made of tanned leather, and have some kind of elastic or non elastic attachment to your arm in the forms of leather string, shoelace, or other equivalent going through symmetrical holes in the bracer around your arm.

Remember that a bracer does not need to be of a very complex design, so long as it matcheds the features mentioned above. Many modern style bracers use plastic or thick material such as nylon instead of leather, but they have the same kind of effect at the cost of aesthetics (how good it looks).

A stave is a piece of wood cut from the tree usually just a split quarter of the tree. It is before any work is done to it except splitting. Also it is the full length of the bow.

neither.. the Elite gt500 is the best bow u will find, blazing fast super quiet and ive compared it to alot of bows not even close the gt500 is faster quieter and shoots more smooth than any bow i have ever shot (and i test bows so ive shot almost every bow made)

Boots of any kind can not be enchanted with fortify archery. Fortify archery is limited to helmets, gloves, necklaces, and rings.

doesnt matter really. the arrow comes off the string exactly the same whether or not you are right or left handed, right or left helical makes no difference unless you are shooting twisted knocks (which I doubt you are). If sound is an issue to you and you would like for your arrow flight to be quieter then shoot them at 0 degrees. they will be less accurate though. it also depends on whether or not you are shooting blazers, feathers, vanes, duravanes....
