Her father is said to be Zeus (Father of all Gods) and her mother is Dione.

Could it be you confuse something? As far as I know Sita, wife of Rama, was abucted to Sri Lanka by Ravana. Never heard about Parvati in Sri Lanka.

I believe it was built to honor Artemis.

Greek gods and goddesses do not generally have symbols, but things that are associated with them. In the case of Artemis, she was a huntress so she often carried a bow and arrows (perhaps made entirely of gold) and is often shown dressed in a shorter tunic than is usual for Greek women (but normal for young girls); sometimes stags, hunting dogs and willow trees were associated with her.

In some portrayals she carries a hunting spear and rides a chariot drawn by stags.

Deer were sacred to Artemis.

No. Artemis is the goddess of animals though. When the Greek gods went to Egypt to hide from Typhon, Artemis did change herself into a cat to hide.

Diana is only a Roman version of Artemis. Artemis is a Greek Goddess of the Hunt. She is also known as the eternal virgin goddess, unless you heard about the story where she was tricked by the three Olympus goddesses that would be another job you would put down.

Greek Gods are of duel nature, Apollo is a god of healing and Artemis is a goddess of birth and infants, in turn they can be god and goddess of death and sickness: Artemis striking down women, and Apollo striking down men.
