Does ASTHMA effect your heart rate when exercising?

Asthma affects pulmonary (lung) function which in turn affects cardiac function. Reduced cardiac output is one of the more serious aspects of a severe acute asthma attack. This will result in an elevated pulse even without exercise. Exercise for asthmatics should be done after a medical evaluation and commenced in stages. Do not rush out and commence a high energy aerobic workout. Gradual development of exercise tolerance should be a goal for all "active" asthmatics.

How does st johns wort interact with asthma inhalants?

Is a labrador suitable for a child with asthma?

I wouldn't recommend a lab for a child who has asthma only because labs shed a lot. I have a cousin who has bad asthma and he cannot be around my labrador. I would recommend a dog that won't shed such as a Bernese Mountain dog. They do not shed and the oils on their skin will not affect someone with asthma.

Are asthma drugs allowed for athletes?

It depends on the drug, and the athletic league. Generally, yes they are allowed because it is a necessity, however asthma drugs can have side effects, such as increased heart rate which may not be good for an athlete. It is best to speak to your coach and your doctor.

Is air duct cleaning effective and worth the cost?

The effectiveness of air duct cleaning, like most things, depends on your goal or expectations.

Are you trying to improve indoor air quality? The verdict is out on whether dirt and other stuff in the air ducts will ever reenter the rooms of your home, but it's definitely worth trying if your home tends to be unusually dusty. And if it's about allergies or asthma, then air duct cleaning alone isn't enough no matter what - it has to be seen as part of an overall management plan. Your air ducts are only one possible source of pollutants in the home. To improve indoor air quality, you need to remove or address the source of the air pollution, as well as increase ventilation so it can't keep building up.

And is it worth the money? If air duct cleaning will accomplish your goal, then it's worth it.

Why cant you serve your country and have asthma?

I wish I knew. The military seems to have a very negative generalization about people with asthma. Most of us are actually very athletic. I'm not even old enough to enlist yet, but I know I will be turned down because my last incident was after my 13th birthday. I don't even have asthma anymore, and I'll still be turned down. There should be some sort of a petition to change this.

Another View: (in the US) Primarily because the military can ill afford to have medically fragile persons involved in high stress situations during a period of time when they may either not have access to their medications, or they may suddenly be struck by a disabling attack, thereby placing their comrades at risk due to the loss of manpower.

It depends which country you serve and to what degree you are affected by the disease. If you can prove that the asthma is not triggered by stress and that you can operate efficiently with a frog on your face you might well be allowed to serve.

Ccn cream of tartar be used to help asthma?

My daughter is 6 years old. She has been hospitalized several times for asthma. We were over at my sisters house and had no inhailer available as it had been a while since her last attack. In a desperate situation we were getting ready to rush her to get her meds. Her breathing got worse and worse, then my sisters mother in law walked through the door and had cream of tartar with her (she uses it for asthma too) and I followed her instruction of 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar and 3 tbs of hot water and hesitantly had her drink it down. In no time at all, her breathing had improved and we no longer had to rush anywhere. Since then, I have had to resort to it again as we have run out of her inhailer again and I have no money to pay for a new prescription at this time. Cream of Tartar works great!!

Do you have enlarged lungs if you have breathing problems unable to clear your lungs and catch your breath You use an inhaler but it still doesn't solve the breathing problem?

The most common problem when you have breathing problems, unable to clear your lungs or catch your breath, is asthma, chronic bronchitis, or other chronic lung condition. All of these come under the umbrella term COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The lungs are not enlarged. Instead, the airways are irritated, inflamed, and narrowed. Your inhaler should open the airways. It is probably a "rescue inhaler". You need to ask your doctor if you need a maintenance inhaler used once a day, along with using your rescue inhaler.

The key is, if your rescue inhaler is not doing what you need, you must talk to your doctor. There are wonderful medication combinations that can help you breathe better.

Why after eating. I get. Asthma?

Because the muscles that cause food to be pushed down your esophagus are partially connected to your trachea. When the esophageal muscles contract, they also cause the tracheal muscles to contract. Causing bronchospasm.

If an autistic person has eczema or asthma is that linked with autism?

No autism is not related to eczema and asthma. Eczema and asthma are related to each other, but they are not connected to autism in any way.

However, autism does appear to be more common in families with a history of atopy; that is, eczema, asthma and other allergies.

There is significant evidence to suggest that autism is possibly an inflammatory genetic condition, the development of which is enhanced (or improved) by environmental factors such as diet, and exposure to various environmental toxins and irritants, and various poisons.

Autism has a strong genetic component - 90% of paired identical twins will both have autism. However, 10% won't, indicating that environmental factors are clearly at play.
