Auditioning

All you need is to have a skill and audition. However I will say that having attended a school for what you would like to do (acrobatics, juggling, stage performing, sideshow... Yes, there are schools for sideshow talents) is typically a BIG help.

There are various main characters, recurring characters, occassional characters and so a round number is often difficult to confirm.

See the related link for a list of these characters.

Agents find auditions by emails if someone emails them an audition then they will notify you.

they auditioned in 2010 but they auditioned individually the judges actually decided to put the five boys into a group and that's when Harry Styles decided to call the group One Direction :)

If your auditioning for a role at one of the theme parks, you do not need an agent to audition. If you are auditioning for The Disney Channel or for a movie, I'd have to get back to you on that.

Well, it depends if you're a girl or a boy, and how old you are, but you can't go wrong with Disney songs!

Well I think that you should sing a song that really shows off your voice, No matter how good or bad of a singer you are, there is always a song out there that makes you sound outstanding!

If you are seriously interested in auditions, you should find an agent and follow the trade magazines. Without an agent, most likely you would only be able to go to 'open auditions' for extras.

People have said that an agent is needed for large role in the film. this is not true. Hundreds of child actors can get lead or supporting roles in film without an agent, not just getting extra roles. lead roles can be obtained by, as you say, auditions.

Regardless of what you say, I would maintain that for the most part, you DO need an agent to get plum roles because those auditions are not usually open casting calls, they are most often closed auditions and to get a shot at one of those you need good representation.

Open auditions are a great way to find new talent.

yes there is some but not very many some stars on Disney were from Ohio.

I have read various interviews with the extras and stuff and they all say Waterloo road casting is done through agents only so I'm afraid that's the only was as far as I know! If you really want to get into acting I recommend an agent anyway - Spotlight company are really good, look at their contacts book for details (type Spotlight into Google and youll see). Hope that makes sense!

Not Entirely true, I have been told my sister is auditioning for this and this is due to her being part of a drama school and the producer is visiting the area.

I am an extra in Waterloo road and it is possible to access it in many ways although the best option is through an agent. Im with spotlight but to be honest it is very expensive with very little work and i would recommmend euro kids or scream. They also have a huge connection with Waterloo road. Hope i helped!

You should look online for talent agencies in your area and visit their websites to see when they hold open auditions/castings for new talent.

Tangled, A Cinderella story, Don't tell mum the babysitter's dead, Nancy Drew, Marley and me, The adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Narnia movies, Mulan, Inkheart, Harry Potter movies, The Aristocats, The Princess and the frog, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the tramp, Aladdin, Christmas in Wonderland, Karate kid (I don't know how girly that girl is), Spy school, Imagine that. There, that's my collection of appropriate movies and cartoons for 10 year old girls.

The best tips I could give you would be to make sure you know your stuff back and front. Whatever you are auditioning for, you have toknow who the character is, the emotional level, and how you feel you should portray their character as. If you need some audition sources to use, Backstage.com is really helpful for looking for legit auditions. Another tip would be to understand what Union and Nonunion is when people ask you about it. Union is an organization to make sure that you get paid for your work and the correct amount (AFTRA and the others are similar). In Union, you either pay a couple of thousands of dollars to get in or you wait in line for the evaluation to see if you are qualified, because Union is usually for big time actors but they really help you with the fraud situation. Actors like Leonardo Di Caprio, Kate Winslet, George Clooney, Scarlett Johanson, etc are in Union, AFTRA, or some type of group. I hope I helped!

That's nearly impossible unless you live in LA, or possibly New York

No. You have to be a part of a major talent agency to find out about Disney Channel auditions.

thats not true, just go to talethunter.com theres a lot of shows you can audition for, like sunny with a chance, suite life on deck, and a whole bunch others

Hannah Montana, too!! In one episode Moises Arias (Rico) is like 11 or 12.

if your desperate go to musicjobs.com

You have to be between 15 and 28. It used to be 16 for the minumum age, but it was lowered after season 9.

Under 18 and you have to have like permission from a parent or guardian.
