if they feel comfortable doing the job it would be okay if you let them.........but it is not likely because they are not a repair shop they are a retail store........ ive been there and they have replaced headlamp and batteries.

I too could not find a way to check the balance of my AutoZone gift card. I was able to call their rewards number at 800-741-9179. Give them the 16 digit card number and they will be able to tell you the balance.

The computer maintains fault codes for several of the vehicle's subsystems.
The Autozone code scanner may only read engine fault codes while the computer is able to report problems on the engine, transmission brakes, traction control and possibly other subsystems.
No doubt, there are code scanners that can read your code and tell you what's wrong. But maybe the one at Autozone is just the wrong code scanner to find out what's wrong with your vehicle.
If all else fails, take it to Saturn, but there should be a few shops in your area that can read the code for you.

You can ask an AutoZoaner for a card that will point you to their website (www.AutoZone.com) to fill out an online application. Once you fill out the online application, you'll be in their database which is available to every AutoZone everywhere.
Go to www.AutoZoan.com . Scroll down to the very bottom... find the "Careers" text link under "Corporate Info" and click on it. The link will take you to their Online Application process.
After you apply, follow up with the store manager of the store you would like to work at, to let the SM know you're in the database. Follow-up shortly there after to see if the SM had a chance to look at your application and ask about scheduling an interview. An AutoZone Store Manager is constantly busy... with a billion things on his/her mind... be patient... it might take a bit to get an interview... but keep at it... patience and persistence pays off.
At the moment, AutoZone is one of the few companies actually growing in this damaged economy of ours... which means they need people. While you're waiting to get an interview, read up about the company, visit the stores, get familiar with their operation, history, culture, etc... Explore their website... All this information will help you when you get your interview.
You don't have to be an auto parts guru to get a job there. They like to have a diversified staff. A mix of people with different strengths. Identify your strengths and promote them enthusiastically. I just fixed the same problem with my own GC Laredo - and it WAS a dealer part (in my case). In order to get the correct switch you need to determine what type of transfer case you have. You can do this by crawling under the vehicle near the middle and look for a small round metal tag mounted on the back side of the transfer case. Once you have that number (new process type 231, 242, 249...) you can order the correct part. If your local jeep dealer is of a friendly sort you may even be able to avoid all the crawling around and just tell the parts manager your VIN# and he will be able to tell you what type transfer case you have - provided that it is the factory installed original. I almost slugged my regular parts man for calling me a liar and trying to sell me the wrong part after I called the dealer AND crawled underneath for a visual confirmation of the type of case I had.
