Does the Baptist Church believe Mormons are Christian?
Mormons are also sometimes not considered Christian because they are not Protestant Christians. Mormons are restorationist Christians, which means they believe true New Testament Christianity had to be restored to mankind by Jesus Christ, not reformed from existing denominations.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer From a Baptist:Baptist do not believe any polytheistic religion is Christian. In Mormonism every good Mormon feels they can become a god.....thus there are many gods. Orthodox Christianity believes that there is one God. That God is triune, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one. Humans can not become gods and this is taught in Mormonism thus it is considered a cult despite believing in Jesus. they believe Jesus and Lucifer were brothers and Jesus came up with a different plan of salvation for our world. This is not orthodox Christianity.Historic Christianity: The one God is a Spirit who is the personal, eternal, infinite Creator of all that exists. He is the only God and necessary for all other things to exist. He exists eternally as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (see Deut. 6:4; Isa. 43:10; 44:6-8; Matt. 28:19; John 4:24; 17:3)
Mormonism: God (Heavenly Father) is an exalted man with a physical body of flesh and bone. LDS founder Joseph Smith said, "If the veil were rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by his power, was to make himself visible-I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345). The trinity is denied with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost seen as three separate entities. "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us" (Doctrine and Covenants [D&C] 130:22).
The Doctrine of Jesus Christ:
Historic Christianity: Jesus Christ was the virgin born God incarnate who existed in all time with the Father and Holy Spirit in the eternal Trinity. As a man He possessed two natures -human and divine. He lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sin of all humanity. (see John 1:1-18; 8:56-59; Phil. 2:6-11; Col. 1:13-22; Heb.1:3; 13:8)
Mormonism: Jesus was the spiritual "first born" Son of God in the preexistence. "Every person who was ever born on earth was our spirit brother or sister in heaven. The first spirit born to our heavenly parents was Jesus Christ, so he is literally our elder brother" (Gospel Principles [GP], p. 11)."And now, verily I say unto you, I was in the beginning with the Father, and am the Firstborn" (D&C 93:21). He is also the "only begotten" physical offspring of God by procreation on earth. "Jesus is the only person on earth to be born of a mortal mother and an immortal father. That is why he is called the Only Begotten Son" (GP, p. 64). His atonement (death and resurrection) provides immortality for all people regardless of their faith. "Christ thus overcame physical death. Because of his atonement, everyone born on this earth will be resurrected . . . This condition is called immortality. All people who ever lived will be resurrected, 'both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous' (The Book of Mormon [BOM], Alma 11:44)" (GP, p. 74). (See GP, pp. 11, 17-19, 61-77.)
The Doctrine of Salvation:
Historic Christianity Salvation is release from the guilt and power of sin through God's gift of grace. It is provided through Christ's atonement and received by personal faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. (see Rom. 3:20; 10:9- 10; Eph. 2:8-10)
MormonismJesus' atonement provided immortality for all people. Exaltation (godhood) is available only to Mormons through obedience to LDS teachings: faith, baptism, endowments, celestial marriage, and tithing. "Wherefore, as it is written, they are gods, even the sons of God-Wherefore, all things are theirs" (D&C, 76:58-59).
These are some of the blessings given to exalted people:
1. They will live eternally in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (see D&C, 76).
2. They will become gods.
3. They will have their righteous family members with them and will be able to have spirit children also. These spirit children will have the same relationship to them as we do to our Heavenly Father. They will be an eternal family.
4. They will receive a fullness of joy.
5. They will have everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have - all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge (See GP, p. 302).
Baptism for the dead provides post-mortem salvation for non-Mormons, and is "by immersion performed by a living person for one who is dead. This ordinance is performed in temples" (GP, p. 375). (See also GP, chapters 18-23.)
According to orthodox Christianity as well as Baptist that are orthodox . Mormons are not orthodox Christians
Why do seventh-day adventists use unfermented fruit juice in celebration of the Lord's Supper?
Seventh-day Adventists shun alcoholic beverages, one of which is wine, or fermented fruit juice. Adventists read in the Bible, which is their guide to living, that the human body is, in a sense, a temple that should not be defiled in any way. Since alcohol is known to be injurious to the human body in a number of ways, Adventists do not partake of beverages that contain it. Incidentally, alcohol is a drug, just like heroin or cocaine, and is always classified as such.
Can the church hold a business meeting after the pastor of independent baptist church resigns?
The Chairman of the Deacons should be in charge of calling business meetings. Each church is autonomous and should have a document that incorporates the leadership in the church, especially if there is a financial problem. Some churches call this the constitution of the church not the covenant.

Different administrations but all of the same spirit.

Sample letter of congratulation to a new pastor?
In a letter to a new pastor, it is important to say congratulations. The letter should also list the good things about the church and the events that the church offers.
Missionaries go all over the world providing for the physical and spiritual needs of the peoples in the countries that they go to. If they need medical care, food, clothes, water, or housing they provide it and they also teach the people about the love of God and Salvation in Jesus Christ. They do this because of what the Jesus told us to do ....
Matthew 25:31-4031 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40 "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Was John the baptists birth an immaculate conception?
No, but you probbly do not understand what "immaculate conception means".
The term immaculate conception is a Catholic and Orthodox belief that refers only to the Virgin Mary; it means that even though she was conceived in the usual way by her parents, she was free from the stain (= macula in Latin) or original sin from the moment of her conception. Calling Mary "immaculate" is a reference ONLY to the condition of her soul, and not the the way she was brought into the world.
The term you probably have in mind is "virgin birth": that is, to be born of a woman without without a human father.
John the Baptizer was not conceived immaculately: that is, he had original sin. He was also not born of a virgin without a human father; he had both a human father and a human mother.
Have the mormons taken over the southern baptist?
Most definitely not. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) and the Southern Baptist Convention are some of the largest religious denominations in the United States. The two groups have some very significant doctrinal differences, making it highly unlikely that they would ever merge.
Despite their differences, the Southern Baptists, Mormons, Catholics, and several other large Christian organizations have recently combined forces to defend their common interests in the public sphere regarding freedom of religion. They have spoken out with a united voice against various legislative measures that go against Biblical values or which limit the free exercise and expression of religion.
Though opinion is that Anabaptists, by name, began with the Radical Reformers in the 16th century, certain people and groups may still legitimately be considered their forerunners. Petr Chelčický, 15th century Bohemian Reformer, taught most of the beliefs considered integral to Anabaptist theology. Medieval antecedents may include the Brethren of the Common Life, the Hussites, Dutch Sacramentists[2][3] and some forms of monasticism. The Waldensians also represent a faith similar to the Anabaptists. In the following points Anabaptists resembled the medieval dissenters: # Some followed Menno Simons in teaching that Jesus did not take the flesh from his mother, but either brought his body from heaven or had one made for him by the Word. Some even said that he passed through his mother, as water through a pipe, into the world. In pictures and sculptures of the 15th century and earlier, we often find represented this idea, originated by Marcion in the 2nd century. The Anabaptists were accused of denying the Incarnation of Christ: a charge that Menno Simons repeatedly rejected. # They condemned oaths, and also the reference of disputes between believers to law-courts. # The believer must not bear arms or offer forcible resistance to wrongdoers, nor wield the sword. No Christian has the jus gladii (the right of the sword). # Civil government (i.e., "Caesar") belongs to the world. The believer, who belongs to God's kingdom, must not fill any office, nor hold any rank under government, which is to be passively obeyed. # Sinners or unfaithful ones are to be excommunicated, and excluded from the sacraments and from intercourse with believers unless they repent, according to 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 and Matt.18:15 seq. But no force is to be used towards them. Bishop Longland in England condemned an Anabaptist for repeating one of its maxims "that alms should not be given before they did sweat in a man's hand." This was between 1518 and 1521. Research on the origins of the Anabaptists has been tainted both by the attempts of their enemies to slander them and the attempts of their supporters to vindicate them. It was long popular to simply lump all Anabaptists as Munsterites and radicals associated with the Zwickau Prophets, Jan Matthys, John of Leiden (also Jan Bockelson van Leiden, Jan of Leyden), and Thomas Müntzer. Those desiring to correct this error tended to over-correct and deny all connections between the larger Anabaptist movement and this most radical element. The modern era of Anabaptist historiography arose with the work of Roman Catholic scholar Carl Adolf Cornelius' publication of Die Geschichte des Münsterischen Aufruhrs in 1855 (The history of the Münster riot). Baptist historian Albert Henry Newman (1852-1933), who Bender said occupied "first position in the field of American Anabaptist Historiography," made a major contribution with his A History of Anti-Pedobaptism. Though a number of theories exist concerning origins, the three main ideas are that, # Anabaptists began in a single expression in Zürich and spread from there (Monogenesis), # Anabaptists began through several independent movements (polygenesis), and # Anabaptists are a continuation of New Testament Christianity (apostolic succession or church perpetuity).
What did Jean baptist Colbert do as finance minster in France?
As finance minister of France from 1664-1683 under the reign of Louis XIV, Jean-Baptiste Colbert significantly tightened the process of tax collection. He tried to eliminate tax farming (tax farming allowed collection agents to retain for themselves a fraction of the taxes they gathered). In 1664 (when Colbert assumed office), only 25% of the taxes collected in France reached the treasury. When he died in 1683, 80% of the taxes reached the treasury.
In addition to this, Colbert tried to increase the nation's income through regulations and control of France's foreign trade. Colbert was a steadfast mercantilist and believed that France's wealth would increase if imports were reduced and exports increased. To enforce this idea, he imposed tariffs on foreign imports into France and used state money to promote domestic manufacture of imported goods, like glass, tapestries, lace, and silk. As another way to advocate domestic trade, Colbert improved France's waterways, bridges, and roads.
What was john the baptists role in jesus' life?
Josephus, the first-century Jewish historian, on the other hand tells us that John baptised for the purification of the body, not for remission of sins. He agrees that John was arrested and executed for publicly criticising the marriage of Herod Antipas, but records that the wedding took place in 34 CE. He says John:
"was a good man, and commanded the Jews to exercise virtue, both as to righteousness towards one another, and piety towards God, and so to come to baptism; for that the washing would be acceptable to him, if they made use of it, not in order to the putting away [remission] of some sins, but for the purification of the body; supposing still that the soul was thoroughly purified beforehand by righteousness."
As can be seen, Josephus quite explicitly differs from the gospel account on the purpose of baptism, but gives us some insights into similarities between the teachings of John and those of Jesus.
Another view:
Simply put, John's primary role was that of the precursor of Jesus Christ - to announce the impending arrival of the Messiah and call people to repentance in preparation. John, himself, defined his role as prophesied by Isaiah:
I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.'"
Do Baptist churches permit same-sex marriage?
It depends on denominational policy. Catholicism does not allow same-sex marriages, but some Protestant denominations do. Others are debating this issue.
Please remember that while a church may allow same-sex marriage, civil marriage may not be legal in the state where it's located.
Some churches that do not permit same-sex marriage:
What is the difference between Baptist and Catholic in words that kids can understand?
Not sure that I can do this in words that "kids" can understand, but I'll try. The Catholic Church was formed in the first century by God, in the person of Jesus Christ, who guaranteed it until the end of the world, and sent the Holy Spirit to guide it always. The Catholics in the following century wrote the Bible as part of their preaching.
The Baptists were started in the early 17th century by the English separatist, John Symth in Amsterdam on his understanding of the New Testament. In other words, the Baptists were started by a human being sixteen centuries after Christ on that man's individual thoughts on what the church *should* look like.
