Yes bed bugs can be eliminated speaking from my experience. I've had bed bug infestation before on my mattress. Bed bugs do bite and they will leave a flat large red mark on your skin. Bed bugs are nocturnal so they will come out at night when you are sleeping and during the day they will hide in cracks and crevices of your room or in your mattress. They can come into your home by cracks and crevices from apartments or from the outside, they can be brought in by your luggage if you went on a vacation. You will need to treat bed bugs multiple of times because they all wont be killed at once, believe me, I know.

As do all insects, they breathe through spiracles- a row of small holes on both sides of their abdomen. They do not have lungs like us. Instead, they have accordion-like "book lungs" which sucks air in and out . You can see it in action if you catch a large insect like a grasshopper or cockroach. Wash bed linen and other washable items on a hot setting in the washing machine. Always clean down any work surfaces with which these items have come into contact. Be sure to use disinfectant.

Once everything is washed and dried or decontaminated place them into clean plastic bags and reseal them for protection.

The biggest task of all is completely clearing and cleaning the room from top to bottom. Firstly get rid of any clutter such as news papers, magazine etc. Bag them, seal the bags tightly and dispose of them.

Your first weapon in the battle to get rid of bed bugs is the vacuum cleaner. This is fantastic at lifting bugs, eggs and larvae from carpets, curtains, mattresses and the box spring. Its many attachments allow it to get into cracks and crevices where the bed bugs are likely to hide out in the day time. NB Remove the bag from the vacuum immediately, place it in a sealed bag and dispose of it.

The second weapon you should consider using is a steam cleaner - you can hire these easily or there is a large range available from Amazon - this will get rid of bed bugs missed by the vacuum as they cannot with stand high temperatures.

Finally the whole area must be treated with some kind of solution to ensure that there are no living bugs, eggs etch left.

Insecticide sprays are widely available, the problem is that whilst some are effective the bed bugs have built up resistance to others. The biggest concern however is the safety of these chemicals. They pose danger to the health of humans and animals alike and should ideally only be used by professionals - which as I mentioned before comes at a high price!

There are quite a few non toxic sprays available to buy either on-line or at your local store. These are completely safe to use in houses where there are children and pets. Again, the problem is that the effectiveness of these can vary.

Bed bugs do not bit through sheets. But there are bed bugs that bite animals and people for their blood, like ticks and fleas. Ticks look like cockroaches but smaller and fleas are really little and they jump really high.

Me personally i don't know. But since i asked the question... I would say it could help. If heat kills them from the dryer doing laundry then why wouldn't using a hair dryer to go around the head board or other areas be helpful?

I have a hard time believing you have bedbugs in your lap top cause of the heat generated by using it. Cause bedbugs dye at 113 degrees so I say leave it on your front seat of your car in the sun. that'll do it!

It could be amber, but the color is is wrong. It may be a piece of Quartz or something with another mineral intruding into it that you could be mistaking for a bug or worm. Its really hard to say without seeing it. You should have a geologist look at it.

You should have a bed. I've never seen just a sofa in a bedroom. Maybe a bed and a loveseat sleeper sofa or chair sleeper. That way if you or your family have overnight guest they have a place to sleep. I'm not sure how old you are, but every child should have a bed in their room.
