Switching from yasmin to ovral?
I've not used Ovral, but I have taken Yasmin. In fact, I took it for years, because it's been found to be particularly effective for women with a health condition I have. Unfortunately, the very reason it probably works well for women who share my endocrine disorder are also why it's hard to leave. You see, Yasmin has an adrenal medication in it, that I've been told on good authority shouldn't be taken more than 3 months in a row. Evidently, that medication takes over your adrenal gland. I'm not sure how the biology functions. What I can tell you is my experience. I quit my Yasmin cold turkey. I was fatigued for a month. So if you're switching from Yasmin to another BCP, it might be a good idea to wean yourself off the Yasmin and mix them together for the first few months so you don't leave your adrenal gland out to dry. (It would probably be wise to cut the caffeine while switching, too, since that also interrupts your adrenal gland.) WARNING: If you are on adrenal medications beyond what is naturally in Yasmin, quitting Yasmin at once could kill you. I'm not kidding or exaggerating, either. I know someone who tried going cold turkey on Yasmin and on her dosage of that adrenal medication that it has in it (which she was prescribed separately, as well), and she had doctors yelling at her for trying to kill herself. Do the sugar pills on the birth control pack make you start your period?
When you take the birth control pill you don't actually get a period it is called a withdrawal bleed. So, when your body does not get the hormone it causes enough disruption so your uterus sheds some. The sugar pills have nothing in them. Thanks, JM
I'm a bit confused by your question, but I think you mean you've been on birth control for three years and now want to get pregnant right away. If that is what you mean, there is no guarantee that you will get pregnant right away. But if you have sex every other day, you will increas your chances. Another trick I learned is to have sex 12,14, and 16 days after your start your period. If you meant something different, resubmit your question written a different way. Most birth control methods are good if you want to conceive immediately after you stop taking them. No matter which you take, after you get off it might take several months to get pregnant because your system has to readjust to no daily hormones, as far as side effects are concerned, no one can know if there will be any, some women get them, some don't... the only birth control method I would not recommend is the Norplant because that is in you for 5 years.
Are birth control pills as effective as the shot?
When taken at the same time, every day, as directed, yes. But, for a lot of people life gets in the way. You drop one down the sink, or run late and take it two hours late or have the flu and throw one up or have to take antibiotics (which makes the pill ineffective for that whole month!) With the shot it is four times a year and you just go see the doctor and get it done. No remembering at all. However a lot of women put on more weight or find that they feel moodier or just not as good when using the shot instead of the pill. There are a lot of options including patches, rings, impanted, shots, pills and IUDs. Most of these use hormones to control your ovulation. No egg = no baby. Talk to your doctor about which one will work best for you, personally. But, no pill, patch or shot can protect you from HIV, herpes or a host of other things (you can get a shot to protect you from two strains of Hepatitis AND now you can get vaccinated against the strain of HPV that causes cervical cancer. Call your doctor tomorrow!) So get your blood checked and be certain that your partner has a clean, recent, blood test and always always always always use a condom (married couples can ignore the condom rule but not the blood test one.)
Is taking plan b and 5 birth control pills at once in the same month bad?

How much does oracea affect birth control?
It is advised by dermatologists to use a second method of birth control while taking oracea for rosacea symptoms. Oracea can make birth control pills less effective, and therefore a secondary is highly suggested to keep from getting pregnant.
As I can see, your periods are irregular and you have stopped taking the pill. If you didn't take the pill before you had unprotected sex then an egg could have been released and fertilized. If I was you then I would take a pregnancy test or talk to your doctor.
Can you change your menstrual cycle without using birth control pills?
Getting Pregnant is a good way. Your cycle stops for about a year.
Stress, starvation and excessive exercise also affects your cycle and you can skip menstruation or it will stop entirely in extreme cases. This is reversible and it will start up again when you return to normal conditions.
Other than that its not easy to change the cycle without using hormonal drugs.
Herbal remedies, though containing some of the right type of hormones, don't have the hormonal strength to beat the natural cycle. And anyway, they contain molecules with the same properties as the oestrogen and progesterone you find in birth control pills, which you are trying to avoid.
Is it possible to menstruate when you use contraceptives?
Yes, most contraceptives, including the birth control pill, allow you to menstruate. On most pills you should be menstruating every four weeks, while others have you menstruating every four months. The mini-pill allows your body to run it's normal cycle, so you should have little change in your menstruation. Other types of contraceptives (patch, intrauterine, etc) work differently, but all should allow you to still menstruate. Call your doctor and read the papers that came with your contraceptives if you have questions about when you should be menstruating.
Birth control pills will often make your period lighter - sometimes even to just spotting; some women even use them for this reason, particularly if their natural periods are unpleasantly or unhealthily heavy. It may not be a bad idea to check with the person who prescribed them for you, but it is fairly unlikely to be anything to worry about.
There are many problems with women that fall under weight. If a women's body does not hold enough fat, their periods could stop, and sometimes, they are never able to have children of their own, because their body can not supply much to the embro.

A few things could be going on. If you were sexualy active just after going off the pill, then you could be pregnant and the first period was not a period. If you had contact of any sort or you were taken advantage of after the period, you could be pregnant. The symptoms listed could be the result of going off the pill. Do an EPT and/or see your doctor about a blood screen.
