When is it most likely a boa will bite?
They only bite out of fear or mistaken identity not because they are ill tempered. You have the same chance of being bitten by a dog as you do a boa when handled correctly. Although there is an increased chance of being bit by a boa when it is shedding and after it has eaten so be more cautious with the snake during these periods.
How big can the boa constrictor get?
8-12 feet but the average is 6 feet long
with females generally being larger in both length and girth than males. As such, the average size of a mature female boa is between 7–10 feet (2.1–3.0 m), whilst it is 6–8 feet (1.8–2.4 m) for the males.[6] It is common for female individuals to exceed 10 feet (3.0 m), particularly in captivity, where lengths of up to 12 feet (3.7 m) or even 14 feet (4.3 m) can be seen.[7] A report of a Boa constrictor growing up to 18.5 feet (5.6 m) was later found to be a misidentified green anaconda.[8]
NO ROSEY BOAS ARE NOT VENOMOUS, THEY CONSTRICT TO KILL THEIR PRAY, THEY HAVE BACK CURVED TEETH TO HOLD THEIR PRAY WHILE THEY CONSTRICT, DEPENDING ON THE SIZE WHEN BIG IT WILL BLEED ALOT AT FIRST, BUT THE PUNCTURE WOUNDS ARE VERY SMALL AND WILL NOT HURT AT ALL, CAUSE OF THE SHARPNESS OF THE TEETH, IT MIGHT SWEll a little around the bite marks and itch but that is the silva of the snake soon you will feel nothing.. No, of course not. If they were I doubt Petsmart would carry them. :D They are good snakes but I like Ball Pythons much more.
A rodent (mouse or rat) of appropriate size (width of rodent should be 1-1.5x the width of the widest part of the snake) Can be fed pre-killed or live but pre-killed is the suggested method, especially frozen and then rethawed to ensure that any parasites the rodent may have had are killed off and not passed onto the boa.
How much does rainbow boa weigh?

What is the largest columbian red tailed boa?
There isn't a Colombian "red-tailed boa" (red-tailed boa was adopted for all similar looking boas to make them more appealing to customers, "true" red tails are called BCC or Boa constrictor constrictor the most common boa constrictor in the pet trade is called BCI or Boa constrictor imperator. BCC's have MUCH brighter tails), but the longest boa constrictor I've heard of was 12.5 ft. I'm not sure if she was a Colombian boa constrictor or not.
How is a python and a boa the same?
Pythons lay eggs, boas give live birth.
They differ in a lot of other ways as well, including size (pythons are generally bigger), scale pattern and facial features. Pythons sense heat through "pits" along the side of their nose, while boas have heat sensory scales. To name a few.
never
Red-tailed boas are nocturnal, so they sleep during the day. You can tell a sleeping snake by lack of movement, steady breathing, and constricted pupils.
How do boa constrictors communicate?
with their bodies
EDIT: Boas (I assume you mean the famous Red Tail Boa) are highly solitary as with most (if not all) snake species. They would communicate for the purpose of breeding, but that's about all I would imagine.
How long do snakes keep their young?
The simple answer is - they don't ! Once the young snakes hatch (or are born in the case of live-bearers) they are completely independent of the mother, and quickly disperse to find their first meal.
Why can a boa swallow an animal that is much larger than the size of the snakes head?
A snakes jaw is not one solid piece of bone like ours is. Their upper jaw is made up of six pieces, and the lower jaw is in two pieces--all connected by ligaments and muscle tissue. The snake simply stretches it's jaws over the mouse or whatever it's swallowing. Afterwards, the jawbones realign themselves.

It all really depends, males are typically smaller then females reaching anywhere in between 2 and 3 feet. Females can reach a lenght of 4 feet. What is better as a pet Ball Python or Boa pros and cons?
if you are new to the reptile pet trade then i definitely recommend corn snakes because they are easy to look after and don't really need much heat except a heatmat. they never really bite and can become very friendly and tame. they don't get to big and are great with kids. ball pythons (royal pythons) are nocturnal snakes so you wont see them often. they curl up into a ball all day until night. they can grow to a metre long and can be quite snappy. when they bite this can really be painful and you may need to go to hospital. they are not poisonous but they can make quite a big cut. they have to have special heating and which includes a ceramic bulb which can be usually £25 to £30. they also need a fluorescent bulb which are usually £15 and a heatmat which are around £7 to £10. they need to be kept in a wooden vivarium with glass doors and preferably a lock on it too.

Common Taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus)
Saw Scaled Viper (Echis carinatus)
Death Adder (Acanthopis antarcticus)
(If bitten and venom is injected)
The most venomous snake on earth is the Belcher's Sea Snake (Hydrophis Belcheri) or the Faint Banded Sea Snake, some consider the Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) an/or the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa) to be the most toxic, however, with recent and more accurate (LD-5-) studies as of 2010 prove the Belcheri has a 100 times more toxic venom then the two above or any other snake on earth.
It has a paddle-like tail, breathes air and can hold it's breath up to 8 hours, it's size ranges from 1-1/2 ft (0.5m) to 3 ft (1 m), a few milligrams of venom can kill over a thousand people.
It's habitat has a wide range in the South Pacific.
What helps a emerald tree boa survive?
From what I've heard and seen...no. They are calm as babies but the adults bite. I almost got bit by one at a reptile show. I'm guessing you want a snake thats big. If this is your first snake check out ball pythons or Kenyan sand boas. If you want an extremely docile snake milk and corn snakes are the way to go. I have a corn snake and he hasn't even tried to bite me or anyone else. Good luck :)
How fast can a boa constrictor go?
That is a broad question as there are several types of Boa's but they can move rather fast in short sprints, but as for distances, they are quite slow, slower then a walking human. As for there strikes, I can just talk about my experiences with them as a owner of several species of snakes. As far as constrictors go, adult full sized Boas, 6 foot or over, are generally slower on there strikes, as well as getting around to constricting there prey. Might be because by this point they know there prey I feed them is dead already, but compared to pythons, and others, they are slow. Same with how fast they tend to move in there enclosures.
Are there attempt to control the growth for brown tree snake?
