Autumn too is gorgeous for this reason. Summer is usually quite hot. The best part about winter is that there is seldom snow in the city yet the foothills are covered, making for an amazing backdrop.

Boise Idaho was formed in 1863 when a group of pioneers arrived in the area in search of gold. The pioneers led by Captain Thomas E. Davis named the city after the nearby Boise River. The river was named after French-Canadian fur trappers who had explored the area in the early 1800s and the name Boise is derived from the French word "boise meaning wooded."
