For a broken ankle which is better hot then cold or cold then hot?
Broken? A cast is better.

Healing and flexibility comes with heat.

Will a stress fracture of upper aspect of humerus resolve itself?
Yes and no. The body will repair itself to the best of its ability, but this can cause serious problems afterward. Yes it will, but medical attention is still needed to immobilize the area where the stress fracture is until it heals on it's own. I fractured a bone in my left ankle and all they did was put a tensor bandage on it and handed me crutches. It did heal on it's own, but as I grew older I do have some arthritis in that area, but nothing I can't handle without medication. The doctor that attended to me said a clean break was better than a fracture. HUH? No one wants either.
What does it mean if you have a mild T12 compression fracture?
Mild is good! That means that the injury is minimal. The healing is fast and pain is less. Now, if they say that your fracture is moderate to severe, sometimes they used the word extensive, it is not good, longer healing and increased pain and perhaps surgery. In all, if you have the last one, be prepared to pay more and more time away from your normal activities.

How do you survive school with two broken fingers?
Well you should definitely go to a doctor first to make sure if your fingers are broken or not. Then you should get small casts for them that can be found at most stores' medical areas. If you are right-handed and the 2-fingers that are broken on your right hand (or your left handed and they are broken on your left), it will be pretty hard to write (though you could still probably type). Or if you have a broken finger on each hand, it will be easier to write than having 2 broken fingers on 1 hand. But, if your broken fingers are opposite your writing hand you should be fine (AND you should either be out of hand related sports, or be careful in them ((which you should also do with any other cases that I have listed above that may have happened to you)) ). So how will you survive school? Ask your teacher to excuse you from hand related sports by asking your parents to write a note. For handwriting exercises you should probably ask your teacher if he/she will set your handwriting papers aside to work on later, until your fingers are healed (then you won't have to present horrible handwriting). With anything else you need to write draw or paint, ask your teacher if you can type words on a computer instead of writing (for painting or drawing, try using your other hand or ask your teacher to set it aside like the hand writing). If your teacher refuses to do any of this, you'll just have to live through it.
Note: If you have your broken fingers opposite your writing hand, you won't need to ask your teacher anything except to excused out of hand-related sports.

How dangerous is a c1 fracture?
It can result in possible death. A fracture of the C1 vertebrae is not commonly associated with spinal cord damage. The most common C1 fractures are from axial compression caused by trauma (Examples: diving into shallow water, falling from a height onto the head, or motor vehicle accidents that cause the head to be thrown into the windshield); thus, they need to be immediately stabilized at the scene, which requires the customary attention to the ABCs (airway, breathing, and circulation). If the airway is compromised or air exchange is inadequate, intubation without moving head is crucial to maintain oxygen. The human body can go without oxygen for about 10 minutes. The brain cannot go without oxygen for very long, and will start to die in a couple of minutes.
Transverse process fracture symptoms?
From my experience, it hurts on the side it broke on mostly. The transverse process are the wings that stick out from the vertebre. These are the spots on the spine where muscles and other tissue connect. Standing and sitting still seems to keep the pain at bay. Movement on the other hand causes sharp pains to shoot from the spot down my spine. Laying seems to cause major discomfort. I'm not a doctor, just someone who recent had a transverse process fracture. Hope this helps you out.
What if a fractured rib has not healed in 4 months?
If the rib has not yet healed you will need to go back to the doctor and most likely have surgery done to put the rib in place and to also get your stomach a special wrap to keep you from using your stomach muscles as much.
These are not factors to consider while checking circulation below a fracture site

How long does it take to heal tenosynovitis?
It seems to last forever if you don't (or cannot) rest the affected area. If you are right-handed and the tenosynovitis is in your right thumb, it will be very difficult (but not impossible) to rest it long enough for it to heal. I know because I have it in my left hand and I am left-handed. I have had it for nearly 6 months now, and it started while I was pushing wet rags around with a mop handle to clean a house with wood floors. You just don't realize how much you need the use of your hand until you can't use it. It's one of those things we just take for granted. I have been told to ice it for three days and wear a brace to immobilize it for the three days, and then wear the brace occasionally when the symptoms start to act up again. I cannot take N-SAIDS due to Inflammatory Bowel Disease, so Tylenol is the answer for me, although it doesn't seem to help much at all. Good luck with this one.
